Not sure where you’re located, but our florist had a DIY option. We met with their staff to go over our vision and pick flowers, then two days before the wedding we went to their studio with a few friends and they had a guide there showing us how to put the arrangements together. We had a great time, our flowers were beautiful, and it cost half of what it normally would since we didn’t pay for any labor.

The shorts answers 1. And 2. No. We are planning to do a flowerless wedding, we are skipping it, including the bouquet for me, the boutonnieres, corsages we are not even doing dried or faux flowers.And we're skipping the arch/ring.
I attended 2 weddings where the only flowers were the bride's bouquet, the boutonnieres and corsage. The wedding industry makes you think they are necessary but they're not (I checked laws !)
The only requirements that make a marriage valid: an officiant that is registered by the state you're getting married in, a valid marriage licence and maybe 1 witness each depending on the rules in the state.

For our wedding, I had my bouquet, the bridesmaids had floral hoops, and then boutonnieres and corsages. We used in-season flowers and greenery (wildflowers, actually, like queen Anne's lace and yellow Yarrow, etc), got married under a tree and didn't need any arch or backdrop, and we have a decent sized garden and it was fall, so we grew pumpkins for our tables. It saved a ton on our florals.


You can use an arch with no flowers, or you can use a pretty backdrop outside. Centerpieces can easily be a simple runner going down the middle of the tables in your wedding color(s). There are definitely ways to bring down that floral bill and still have a beautiful wedding!

It sounds crazy but I've known a lot of people who've gone to trader Joe's and have talked to the managers and literally had flowers delivered to the store like main arrangement paid for flowers fresh beautiful flowers delivered to the store for their wedding you can always try like Costco's

Roses are expensive and likely what is driving up the cost. I would try some of the options mentioned above and try a different flower.

We are not doing a wedding arch for the ceremony. Instead, we plan to put 2 floral centerpieces on stands for the ceremony and then repurpose them onto tables for the reception. This saves on floral budget.

Google non-flower options for table settings and alters. We are just doing two planters on either side that we will make with flowers from Home Depot, and it lasts the whole season! I'm with you, I can't BELIEVE how much some people have to pay florists for their weddings!

We saved some money on florals by DIY-ing our centerpieces. I bought a bunch of bud vases from various craft stores and ordered flowers from fiftyflowers.com and my mom, bridesmaids, and I arranged them the day before. The caveat is since the florist isn't delivering the arrangements to your venue, you'll have to transport them and set them up yourselves or hire a day-of coordinator to do it (we had the latter, through our venue). I didn't trust myself to be capable enough to make bouquets, boutonnieres, etc. so I ordered those (plus a floral swag for our ceremony arch, installed by my DOC) through a florist. I think we spent around $800 for the florist items and an additional $500 for 11 DIY centerpieces and extras scattered throughout our venue.

People don't use flowers all the time. for my wedding in order to save money i entirely skipped the flowers!

For my sister’s wedding she bought flowers from Trader Joe’s and Sam’s and we put bouquets/boutonnieres/corsages together the day before. For my wedding, I was able to negotiate with a florist for smaller (and cheaper) bouquets since I’ve never been a fan of the huge bridal bouquets anyways. The only thing we’re buying is bouquets. We’re skipping boutonnières/corsages to save money. I’m hoping to grow my own flowers to use on the arch and for the cake but we’ll see what happens.

No and no. I'm literally just buying some $15.99 flowers at a grocery store and doing them up as a bouquet because yes; florists are way overpriced. Sola wood flowers are also a great DIY idea. I'm not doing any decorating with flowers or having any arch or anything other than bouquet and boutonniere though, so for me this is very simply solved. Im not sure how big of a wedding you're planning and if this is helpful for your situation, lol.

Haven’t seen anyone else suggest this yet, but look into Something Borrowed Blooms. They’re silk flowers you rent that are already put together into bouquets, garlands and more. My coordinator was just telling me how beautiful they are and how much she likes working with them at weddings. It’s probably a little more expensive than DIY but not nearly as expensive as flowers from a florist.

Costco is the best bet and they have a 25' runner you can use on the arch.

They also will do either a 10 or 20 wedding package for the bouquets, corsages, etc. that includes centerpieces and rose petals.

We didn't have an arch, though our venue did provide a large cross to act as a focal point, since we were outside - but there were no flowers on it.

On the tables we did potted tuberous begonias - they were beautiful.

I am having silk flowers on our tables and candles lighting we are thinking of a flower arch or flower wall better than renting this idea

It seems to be really popular on Tik Tok for people to order flowers in bulk from Costco or Sams club and then arrange them themselves.
My plan is to have them arrive at the venue a few days early (destination wedding) and the night before the rehearsal dinner etc, have my wedding party all hang out and eat pizza and make the florals.
Also I was just in a wedding in September where I put my bouquet down at Cocktail hour and never touched it again, so I’m gonna make my bridesmaid bouquets centerpieces at 4 of the tables. Which saves me 4 centerpieces. Also my FH doesn’t know what a boutonniere is… so we’re just not going to do one.I think I’m going to see if my MOH will go thrift some vessels for them with me because she is a WIZ at thrifting and I like the idea of a little something vintage in there.

If you are looking for real eucalyptus, try Publix. I buy it there all the time. It smells so amazing in my house. I am also doing real eucalyptus and calla lily.

I will have faux flowers in vases as centerpieces for my tables with floating candles. Lowering our wedding cost we have other things on the table that we need to deal with. And adding the cost of real flowers and a florist prices and delivery charge
