So I am obsessed with the Brilliant Earth website and found so many rings I love in there.
Are they legitimate? How the quality?

If if you have a ring from there can you please share pix?

My recommendation would be to never buy something that’s such a big purchase online. A lot of times what you pay for is not what it appraises for. If you want something unique and different try to find a local jeweler to work with. That way you can see everything in person. Plus they often can provide in house appraisals, all the paperwork you need for insurance, and if something ever goes wrong with the ring or you need it cleaned you have a local resource.

Hey Deanna! Unfortunately, I can’t attest to the quality of Brilliant Earth rings, but wow, they are beautiful! I can see why you are so interested in them! Have you searched for customer reviews online? You may come across for helpful insights there.

I’d also love to hear from someone who has personal experience with this brand.

Is there a particular style ring you’re looking for?

My engagement ring is from Brilliant Earth and I love it! My FH custom designed it online. It’s so sparkly and comes with a cert of authenticity and one of those sheets that shows the insurance appraisal

I think this is good advice, because you can't research anything too much, especially with it being such a big and important purchase. However, my diamond came from Blue Nile and it actually appraised for more than my H purchased it for. Not that it happens with everyone, but as long as someone does their research and the return policy is good, I think purchasing online is fine.

For me personally I just can’t imagine spending that money for something I can’t see beforehand. I had a great experience with our local jeweler. I’m glad blue Nile worked for you!

I totally get that for sure! I think I would have been too nervous haha. I know that H looked at over 40 diamonds in person (some from different local jewelers and some from online that her ordered and then shipped back) before he picked the right one. As long as it has the GIA certificate, I think it is pretty safe!

My FH purchased my ring online (diamonds online are WAY cheaper than in your local jewelry store and if you are buying a GIA certified stone you have nothing to worry about) and we got such a great deal on it, but I HIGHLY recommend using www.rarecarat.com...think kayak for diamonds. If you give them the certification number of the diamond there are actual gemologists that will take a look at it and give you their honest advice. When you purchase diamonds online sometimes the very same diamond is being offered at different places like bluenile, james allen, brilliant earth for different prices. Rarecarat will show you the lowest price online for that same stone. It was a very valuable tool for us to make sure that we were getting exactly what we wanted and it is all offered for free!!!

Brilliant Earth does have showrooms in certain cities. I know they have one in Los Angeles, and I think San Francisco, San Diego, and Boston, and a few others as well.

My bridesmaid is thinking about getting a ring from Brilliant Earth and she went to the LA showroom because her friend has a BE ring that she really liked. I got mine from a fully online seller, and have had absolutely no problems with it. As long as you go with a reputable company, you should be fine.

My ring is also from Brilliant Earth and I love it. My fiance and I went in person to the store in Washington, DC to look at different options and talk through everything with a representative before ordering. We selected a diamond that was on their website (not in store) and it was just as advertised/expected when we went to pick up the ring. Great experience overall!

TLDR: The experience was bad, and the quality was worse. Go elsewhere to get your ring.

I'll start with the positives. The people working in the store were very nice, and have remained so throughout this entire ordeal. That's about all I can that good about this company.

When I came to the original sizing of the ring my fiance felt like they didn't guide her well enough in the process of getting the right size. Looking back at that probably would have prevented all these problems, if they had just been a little more helpful with the sizing. So she decided she needed a 6.5, so that's what we got. I proposed to her at she thought the ring looked great (honestly it did) but with 6.5 it was just falling off her finger. Needless to say, she couldn't wear the ring at all, so on Saturday we headed to the store to start the process of getting it resized. We spent a long while trying to figure out what size to get the ring. Again way too hands-off with trying to figure out the size of the ring. Finally, she lands on a size 6. The is sent off to get resized on March 2nd. On March 16 we are able to pick the ring up. She feels like the ring is still a little too big but we decide to take the ring and let her wear it for a little while to try it out. The first couple of days she won't wear it out of the house. Finally, she wears it out starting Wednesday, Saturday morning we notice one of the Diamonds has fallen out of the band. Now we have to go back to the showroom. We got there and explained the situation that she had only worn the thing for 3 days since I gave it to her. They take the ring and send it back to get repaired (mind you this ring has barely been worn at this point). It got sent off on March 23rd and on April 6th we were told the ring had been repaired and it was ready for pick up.

We get there and my fiance asks if they actually replaced the diamond or they just put it in a whole new setting. The person in the store reads the notes and tells us everything that she has in the notes. Basically, the ring had just had the diamond in the side replaced and all the other stones had been triple-checked. We take the ring home and think our day is over and the whole situation has been resolved. My fiance keeps telling me the ring feels bigger I'm telling her there's no way it could be bigger. Short version I was wrong. We ended up making another trip back to the store and asked them to check the size of the ring. The one that we were told was the original ring we sent in but fixed had magically gone from a size 6 to a 6.25. Somehow no one can tell us what happened. So now the ring has to get sent back again to get resized again because someone decided to cut some corners. The positive was the person at the store was trying to be as helpful as possible and this one shes like look you need a 5.75 so since we have to send it back again let's get it to the right size that would best fit your hand. The ring was sent off to get repaired again the same day we picked it up.

Now today April 10th I got an email from the repair team telling me they would like to schedule a call with me. Ok sure but not for another 5 days. This place is absolutely ridiculous.

Honestly, I read the reviews on Reddit and other places but she was sold on Brilliant Earth. I know most people only post negative reviews but this experience really makes you rethink choices. Any number you call will send you to the same call center. You can't get a straight answer from them you want help we can help you in a week. At this point, we won't be getting the wedding band from here.
