Bridesmaids

I have 8 bridesmaids. I have my best friends from childhood/high school (1), college (2), PT school (3), and then my FSILs (2)

I'm having 7 bridesmaids & FH is having 7 groomsmen! I wanted 10 on each side, but we didn't have enough room at the venue for that many people to stand up together. My friend had 12 bridesmaids & 12 groomsmen at her wedding.

That's a personal decision, there's no specific number.

That is totally up to you and possibly FH if you’re big on even numbers. I’m anal about that. I chose my bestest friend in the whole wide world, and my three cousins that were all raised like sisters. I skipped out on one of my other best friends and some college friends that felt like the could’ve been in the wedding. I did this because I don’t like unnecessary stress, too many people is too much for me and, I wanted something simple with the people I won’t regret in a few years. I always thinks it odd for people to have so many but that’s strictly up to them. When you look back on your day, who do you want to stand with you? When you look at your life, who’s always been there for you? When you look at your relationship, who’s always supported you? Those are the things you have to answer to help you decide.

I think it's up to your discretion on how many is too many. I personally think that's a lot, but the choice is all yours. Just keep in mind each BM needs gifts - more BMs = more gifts/more money you need to spend!

I think 7 is fine, but just make sure you're crunching the numbers - you'll need extra bouquets, gifts, hair and makeup services, a bigger space to get ready in, larger transportation if you're all heading to the wedding together, etc. Just make sure you can afford it all!

I have 8 bridesmaids! I think having an even number of girls is always a good idea so you are centered in all of your photos. Just something to think about

I have 7 bridesmaids in my wedding party, my future husband also has 7 groomsmen, we also have a flower girl and 2 ring bears. So we have a total of 17 people in our bridal party

Honestly, I don't think you can have "too many" bridesmaids. I do think there has to be the same number of groomsmen though to even everything out. You don't want 7 bridesmaids and 3 or 4 groomsmen. I'm currently facing that issue now. I had 7 girls to start with, my fiance only has 4. So I cut 2 girls and am waiting on him to pick either his step dad or his cousin for the 5th person.

I don't think there is a "too many" or "too few". Some brides don't have any, and they have great weddings. Some brides have a ton and have great weddings. I had 9 bridesmaids and my husband had 10 groomsmen. We didn't do even numbers, I didn't see the point in randomly adding someone just for the sake of even numbers. No one noticed anyway and it flowed perfectly fine. Having a larger bridal party does cost more in proposal gifts, bachelor/bachelorette favors, day of gifts, flowers, rehearsal dinner, etc. so make sure that's in budget.

I have 6 but i wanted 4 lol

I only had 4, but 7 is definitely reasonable. I think more than 8 gets a little crazy.

I have three, maybe 4 if my FSIL can make it. 7-8 seems average. 3-4 for me seems small, but I have seen some of these Southern wedding parties with upwards of 10-15 on both sides.

I have 2 MOH and 5 bridesmaids, so a total of 7. FH has the same number.

I have 8. 4 sisters and 4 friends. I would have preferred just my sisters (choosing out of friends is hard) but my fiance has so many good friends, he couldn’t narrow it down to 4. I do like the look of big parties in pictures but the costs do add up!

Really it depends on how many you want. Im only having 4 bridesmaids but im also having 2 flower girls and 2 ring bearers
