Bridesmaids From All Over

Britney, on May 24, 2020 at 9:51 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11
Hi guys! I’m not sure what to do. I have bridesmaids from all across the U.S. I figured with that and the virus going on, it’s unlikely that everyone will be able to meet up. I’ve been looking online for dresses for my bridesmaids, and I can’t find one that is short (knee length) and the color navy. I’ve checked David’s Bridal, but they only have long navy ones. I’m trying to find a chain that everyone will be able to go to. Also, I have two bridesmans. Do they wear the color my bridal party wears or the color that the groomsman party wears? It’s so hard to plan a wedding.

It's up to you on how you want to style your bridesmen. You can match them to the groomsmen, you can match them to the bridesmaids, or you can do both (same suit as groomsmen, but ties, socks, pocket squares, and all other accessories in the bridesmaid color.)

An online retailer like Azazie could be a great solution. You won’t have to worry about store availability in each area and they offer at home try ons for $10. It looks like they have lots of knee length navy dresses. As for the men in your party, it’s really up to you and what you think looks best.

I recently stumble across a site called tobi, I believe they are in the states somewhere. They have a lot of options, and I recently order a skirt and a dress and they were great quality. They often have great sales, and I think have a decent exchange policy. I took a quick peek and searched navy blue dress and there were some results for sure. I have no idea what style or how casual, or fancy you want but it could be worth a look.

The designer for my bridesmaid dress is mori lee. The wide array of colour options is why I picked them. I remember seeing a gorgeous lace navy blue dress. It was so pretty. But all the dresses in chiffon all come in the same colour so you could even have different styles with exact same fabric and colour. I would say the men in your party, on your side should also go with your bridesmaids, but heck really we can do whatever we want. It may look nice to have them match the other men’s attire. Good luck!

Maybe focus on online stores like Azazie, Lulus or ASOS. For bridesmen it’s up to you. My man of honor wore the same color jacket (a dusty blue) as the BM dresses and it looked great. He also wore a tartan bowtie to coordinate with the groomsmens kilts which was his idea!

What about a site like Lulu's? Or any of the online retailers (JJ's House, Azazie, Birdy Gray, For Her and For Him, etc). And is it super important all of the dresses match exactly, or would you consider the mismatched bridesmaids trend, which can make finding a dress easier if people are spread all over.

David’s bridal has about 15 short dresses in the color marine which seems to be their navy? But maybe you were looking at a different color? All of my girls used azazie and had no issues! Lulu’s, Nordstrom, ASOS, and birdy grey are also good bridesmaid options.

I think something like Azazie would be your best bet!

Brideside.com is great for scattered wedding parties. I took a quick look in their website and they have several options for navy, cocktail length dresses. They also offer a try on ya home program where for a small fee you or your bridesmaids can try on a few styles to be confident you’ve picked the right one. They do have showrooms in a few cities, so I was lucky enough to go in person and see the dresses were of good quality. https://www.brideside.com/collections/color/navy-bridesmaid-dresses/cocktail?page=1

Highly recommend Azazie - you can order dresses to try on at home for $10/dress. Then you can do a Zoom try-on party to get everyone's opinions and have some of the shopping experience you would have had in store!

My bridesmaids also came from all over so we did Azazie! For my bridesman, he wore the outfit that the groomsmen wore, but his bow tie matched the bridesmaid’s dresses. (Our colors were light pink and periwinkle - the groomsmen wore pink bow ties, bridesman wore a periwinkle bow tie) the pic below is SO blurry I’m sorry but hopefully you can see what I mean! It tied together so nicely.Bridesmaids From All Over 1
