Bridesmaid verse Stylist.

Good morning Brides

I have a little dilemma regrading my hairstylist and bridesmaids, which I understand both sides. First of all my bridesmaids don't want to pay $70 to get there hair styled early in the morning when the wedding don't even start until 6pm. and the stylist not wanting to do touch ups if need be. I have my maid of honor that want clip in installed and the stylist stating she will not have time and will not need them. So know my stylist is requiring everyone to pay in full by the weekend. so know they are upset and don't what to do that . DO i cancel and find some one else since my wedding is a week away.

I can understand your bridesmaids frustration. I would not want to pay out of pocket for services I don’t want at an inconvenient time. You should pay for their HMU if you are requiring it be professionally done. Otherwise, have them book whoever their normal stylist is or do their own hair and they can pay for what they actually want.

Oh wow, that is such a difficult position to be in. I totally understand your BMs concerns, being wary of paying for a hairstyle that will likely fall by the time of the ceremony. Is there a reason the stylist has to do it so early in the morning?

Girl, All she stated was she will not have time. 5 bridesmaids.. no weave sew in nothing just style and no updos.. I thought the whole day would be dedicated to me and my wedding party. I don’t want to have a bad relationship with my stylist but I think I might have to go a different direction.

I get your BM. What’s your stylists reasoning for wanting to do it early in the morning? Does the stylist anticipate to take all day and therefore wanting to start early?
I’d also not be happy with starting early for a 6pm wedding. By the time the wedding starts my hair would already be flat again.
The only consideration for keeping the current stylist is whether or not you can find another stylist you trust and within price range.

Ouch. I can’t say that I blame you. If everyone is only having simple down do’s, I wouldn’t expect them to take more than 30 mins per girl. That’s only 2.5 hours. If you could find someone more accommodating this last minute, I would probably go with them also. I would definitely have a heart to heart with your stylist if you do that, just to maintain a positive relationship with her. I would explain to her that you would obviously love her to do the hair for your wedding, but unfortunately your BMs cannot have their hair done that early in the morning, and if she cannot do it later in the afternoon you completely understand but you will have to go with someone else who can. (I wouldn’t tell her that until you have someone else booked though. You don’t want to end up with no stylist at all!)

Could you possibly have them get their own stylist on their own or give them the option to do it themselves. Or if you don't want to do that I say find a better stylist. I agree I wouldn't want to pay that kind of money for a stylist who seems to have a lot of things she won't do.

Hi! My mom and I are in the hair business and we have done many weddings. That day the bridal party is your priority. You work on their schedule and if you have time for anything else that day great, if not it is what it is. I say you speak to her and tell her she's a great stylist and you'll still be her client but for your wedding her schedule is just not gonna work.

I know for our wedding we started hair and makeup at 8 am and our ceremony didn't start until 4:30 pm. However, we did bridal party photos, a first look between my dad and I, and a first look with my husband and I prior to the ceremony so everyone had to be done with hair and makeup by 2:00 pm and dressed by 2:30 pm in order for us to take the photos we wanted prior to the ceremony. None of the bridesmaids needed any touchups for anything like that even the ones that got their hair and makeup done at 8 am.

Thanks for the advice I just don't feel like its about me and my day every thing is I don't have time. So we just had to part ways I told her I was sorry and that I still want to be her client but its just to much confusion with all this. I need someone that will be available that day. If maid of honor want clip in then she should have them. I want them to be happy and feel beautiful as well. So I found some one that is well to doing what I'm asking and work with me and is much cheaper. So I'm happier know. Thank you ladies for your input.

So very happy to hear you found a solution. Honestly, I get it, it’s so tough to find a good hair person, but she just wasn’t the right fit for the wedding. You guys will have a great time and won’t be disgruntled on the day!

Whoooo exciting! I got married last Saturday (3/6). It was an amazing day and now, it weirdly feels like a blur. It went by too fast but we had a blast. I’m sure you will too!!! All the best to you.
