Brides who waited it out

Renee, on May 16, 2020 at 12:00 AM Posted in Community Conversations 9 143

As some states are opening up, I am curious if there were any brides who waited out COIVD. Did you have your wedding? Are you having your wedding? Any huge changes? I'm so happy for you if you did or are going to celebrate soon! Share are the details! We need some positive vibes in these dark and uncertain times! Congratulations to you!

Massive changes but we are still having our wedding on June 6. We had two beautiful venues for ceremony and reception but unfortunately canceled ceremony venue. Reception venue is still confirmed because we are going to have a large reception event at a later date. We are now having an intimate backyard wedding still on our day with our parents and bridal party. Our bridal party was is only 3 friends and the rest are siblings.

It’s still going to be beautiful and I’m so excited. We’ve got a backdrop and an arbor. I know a few friends will be coming but watching from the neighbors yard to keep distances. Everything is coming together.
Our original plan for honeymoon was Hawaii/Kauai for 12 days but now we are going to Galena at a sweet little hotel with our own cottage booked. It’s still going to be special and a vacation that’s just for us! 20 days!! Ahhhh!! Omg! 😃😄❤️

Thank you!! Good luck to you! I know, I feel like time barely moved forward in February-March and then it just sorta skipped to 20 days out! Haha it’s flown by!

We’re July 11, and right now, we’re still on. Haven’t changed anything about the wedding as of right now but will make decisions if necessary the closer we get to July.

Our date is June 13 we did cancel our venue and we are now having it in a family friends yard on the lake. Our guest list was less than 50 anyway so we are keeping that the same. I am 27 days to go we can’t wait we actually went yesterday to the court house to get our marriage license! We are so close I can’t wait to start our lives together even admist virus junk going on. I thought about even having a jar if anyone mentions anything about it on our wedding day they have to put $1 in the jar like a swear jar lol. I wish everyone the best of luck on their wedding day because I know just like me when I started planning a year and a half ago I never would have thought I would be trying to plan and getting married during a world wide pandemic. We are in this together brides always try to look at the brighter side of life. Stay strong stay healthy!

Postponed our May 24th wedding to Sept 4th and I Am planning full steam ahead most was already done tho since we postponed less then 60 days out from the original date lol !! I can’t wait and I pray we won’t have to postpone again!! I’m stubborn and refuse to get married without both our families present ... We are still some time away (December 6th) but my extended family is another country so we are still worried that borders will be closed, and that there might be another outbreak in the fall.
We obviously won’t be making a definite decision until a month or two before the wedding, but we’ve decided that we will either cut down our guest list or we will just get married with our parents and siblings on our date no matter what. We live right by Lake Tahoe so we are lucky to be able to get married outside in a beautiful place no matter what happens.

Planning on still having it, July 10. Guest list is 50, but I'm curious as to if I should include a note in our invites about being in touch if plan changes with COVID or just leave it as is?

Our venue announced yesterday that they're hosting their June weddings with modifications, so we feel good with going forward with our August plans. We may have to cut our lost because vendors are included in the people count, a lot of people might refuse to come, but it's fine. We just want to be married.

Still moving forward with our July 25, 2020 wedding. The church is allowing immediate and extended family and is big enough to separate people out. Our reception venue is allowing 50% capacity as of right now. We are waiting to see what happens in the next few weeks. We still plan on getting married this July even if we have to cancel a reception.

Our Date is still May 23, 2020. Have had to make a lot of changes but that is ok. Governor was suppose to allow 30 people after the 18th but now isnt goung to allow that many. Had to move wedding to another county that is smaller and get special permission to have 30 people. It will now be outside but that is fine. We will have our kids and family there and that is what matters We will have the reception and dance in July hopefully 🤞
