Bride With No Earrings

Jasmine, on August 5, 2021 at 10:16 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 24
Have any of you not worn or don't plan on wearing earrings?? My ear holes have been closed for many many years (never been my thing). If you didn't or plan on not wearing them, have you thought of any alternatives or just stayed bare??

My sister got married in 2019 and my grandmother lent her a beautiful necklace and earring set to wear with her wedding dress. However the day of the wedding, hair and make up ended up running super later and she never actually put them on. No one noticed until my grandmother asked where her jewelry went later that night… you can just wear a nice necklace and maybe something in your hair. It’s all about what you like and want to do. No one will notice the earrings!

I just didn’t wear anything. I haven’t worn earrings since high school so it didn’t feel weird at all to make that decision. I doubt anyone noticed.

Oh. Ok. I do have a hair clip and I'm currently looking into necklaces. So sounds like I'm ok then. Still debating if I should go for a bracelet too.

    Thank you!

Yea. That's why I feel so blah about it. My grandma has been an advocate for jewelry for years (especially earrings) and always tried to make me wear some. It was just so uncomfortable lol.

I wasn't planning on wearing any because my holes have been giving me issues as well but the shop I ordered my necklace from sent me a pair of matching earrings as a gift. It was such a nice gesture I went & got them re-pierced but otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered. I have a hairclip that I felt would have done my upper half enough justice along with the necklace. Smiley smile I would say you are good to go without. You want to be comfy! It's your day Smiley heart

Absolutely! I've been doing a million things and I hate that I'm just now looking for jewelry. Hopefully I find something.

    Thank you!

    Get whatever makes you happy!

And if I’m being perfectly honest, I might not even wear earrings myself. I wear hearing aids so I typically avoid earrings because if feels like a lot going on for my ears!

Oh. Yea, that makes sense. I definitely feel better about not wearing any. My grandma's just gonna have to talk crap cause I'm sure she will lol

I never had my ears pierced so have never worn earrings. I briefly debated getting clip-ons for our wedding, but compared "real bride" photos of my dress and decided I actually liked the dress best with minimal jewelry. I wore my rings as my only jewelry on my wedding day and still looked plenty bridal.

I did use some fancy hair pins in my hair, and I think that added a little extra glam (especially to my face/head region) while still keeping the overall look minimal and not overdone.

I do think it does depend a bit on your dress though. I love chic minimalist crepe bridal dresses but they need more accessorizing and a veil to make them look bridal, and not just like a formal white dress. If you have a very simple dress, you might want some earrings, a veil, or hairpiece to balance out the look, but a fancier dress might not need anything additional.

I personally feel like if you normally don't wear earrings and you do for your wedding day they're going to stand out more to people who know you than you may want. I never wear dangly earrings and will not for our wedding because I want to feel like myself, even if they're more formal. I think a necklace and possibly a hairpiece will look beautiful.

I agree with Jessi, if it's not you I wouldn't worry bother for a one-time statement piece that will just detract from your beautiful self. There are some really artistic ear cuffs on Etsy and other independent jewelers or a hair piece if that suits you better. Best of luck.

I haven’t worn earrings since I got my ears pierced at 18. I didn’t wear any jewelry on my wedding day, just a sparkly hair piece. It wasn’t missed.

Yea. I definitely still want to make a statement but a subtle one to compliment.

Thanks! I didn't even think about ear cuffs but I think I'll just stick with a necklace and/or bracelet. Either way, I need to do it fast!

I've never had pierced ears. I have large ears and I don't want to draw attention to them, so my hairstyle will probably cover them. Definitely don't feel like you need to! Probably the only time anyone will notice is in your detail photos anyway.

True and I think that's kind of what I had in mind. I have small ears so thinking about it, I'd probably look as uncomfortable as I'd feel if I wore them. Thanks for your insight.

What about the “no jewelry” look? It’s bold and beautiful.

Hmm....that's true too but I don't know. I just don't want to feel naked. I think that's what I'm worried about. Although, I'm not sure why.
