DC Brides - where did you have or are planning to have your bridal shower? I don’t want my girls spending a lot of money on my shower so looking for some nice options to suggest to them.

Hey Tishanda! The most cost-effective venue option would be the home of a friend or family member for sure! Is this something you would be happy with? How large is the guest list?

Definitely! My guest list is at 140 but I’m not inviting everyone to the bridal shower.

My guest list is about 130, I had my bridal shower two weeks ago at FH's cousin house (as she was the host). We had about 34 out of 48 guest show up to the shower. A house is definitely going to be the most affordable option. Also, if you are part of a larger church, they have small rooms that you can use upon availability. Some other options are restaurants, community centers, smaller venues, a park (depending on the month and weather), golf club, a local brewery, etc. Good luck!
