I think you’ll be fine! It’s fairly simple so it’s not like you’re going in a fully beaded or embroidered gown. The pops of color will help to keep it casual!

My nerves are no longer going haywire. I appreciate your opinions and needed them! Going to put all the other dresses I own that I pulled out in a panic BACK in the closet, LOL! Thank you guys for the well wishes too!! This Bridal Shower is making everything seem so much more... "Gah! I'm getting hitched!"

I should have attached normal pictures instead of the screenshot. Would have been so much easier. SMH Here is the outfit with the belt and the shoes. (Lisa, yes! I love little pops of color!!)

The shower was beautiful!! My favorite part seeing the ladies in my life I love so much there. (OMGOSH, the happy tears. Coming out of the blue and NOT normal for me. What is this wedding doing to me??! LOL) It was such a good time, and all loved the outfit. Including myself. Thank you for your opinions!! I matched the decor too!!

If you haven't had your showers yet, enjoy them!! There was no need in the end for me to be nervous. Once I got there, it all dissipated. It is super special to be surrounded by (and, honestly- honored!) by the women in life that have your best interests at heart. Most definitely much needed, surprisingly- to recognize the commoradity of women together, and the respect for womanhood too. And the fun conversations we got into!! The advice from the older ladies who have been married for MANY years, AND THE HUMOUR of all's opinions on Marriage!!! Oman. Absorb it! Cherish it! So much love. An experience that I will cherish forever, for sure.

Tip- the fiancé walked in with me, waiting a bit to come in after I entered the room, and then came back to load the gifts, lol. The ladies LOVED seeing him. (When he entered after me for a VERY quick stay- then went grocery shopping so we don't have to today!!) and then when he came back in towards the end of the shower. It was so cute. They all bee lined for HIM TOO! Hugs, kisses, happiness. I'd suggest doing that. They WANTED to see him and speak to him. It was adorable, completely!!!! and he was so good with it.

(He actually stated late last night he loved it too.)

Jeez Lara you have me second guessing my choice to not have a shower! I initially thought it wouldn’t be necessary or appropriate for me given that we’ve been living together for a long time and aren’t registering for many gifts, but the feeling of seeing all your favorite ladies makes me think it might be worth it anyways!! Lots to consider. So glad you enjoyed yourself and that the outfit worked out!! 💕

I TOO didn't request a shower! We do not have a wedding party (besides my little nephew as ring bearer.) Never wanted one. (My whole "if I ever get married" life) I see the beauty and the fun of having one for other people- I just always preferred those I love to be present, no titles given (they don't need one!) and to be able to enjoy everything with no obligations. Again, lifetime personal preference, and the fiancé has always felt the same for himself. (Phew, got lucky there!) Along with that I informed everyone I do not need parties, the attention etc. It is not that I would mind it, it is just not a requirement. Based on not having a wedding party, and also- the same as you! Living on my own for years and now also with Fiancé, I have most things. My future MIL wanted to throw me the Bridal Shower. She even told my fiancé (her son) she really... really... really!! wanted to. My fiancé reminded her it wasn't necessary, but instead of speaking with him about it, ask me. LOL. When she did, I told her I don't want anyone spending a ton of their money on it, including her! She said it's not about any of that, and I'd see why when I had one. I obliged, thanked her. And off she went with the planning. She was so excited. (I was never being ungrateful mind you! Just figured- it's no big deal to not have one!) I see now why she said I would see why. For all the reasons I mentioned in an earlier post. Keep in mind, It was small and intimate, which is how I roll. I don't need all the extra hoopla. I already have that within our personal life. That's just me. Plus, I am older than the typical bride to be and possibly that is it too. The smaller, the more time you get to spend, the more you can hear and listen to, absorb. I felt odd doing a registry too! Wasn't going to do one, but since MIL threw the shower, I did a small one. (Feels weird doing one) MIL and quite a few ladies smashed those thoughts. I heard repeatedly "A woman needs updated things for her home, her marriage. And so does the Groom too. It's OK and quite necessary" <- So cute. LOL (hearing it from the beautiful women in their 80s was SUPER cute!) If someone wants to throw you one Emily, just let them, lol. The best part was the woman bonding. That of which we don't get all of the time. It was just my favorite part along with the advice and the laughter. I wouldn't change it, for sure. Keep your mind open to girl! I am still on cloud 9 over the day I had. So is the fiancé believe it or not. Lots of genuine love, for sure.
