Hello. Would it be rude to have pre marriage parties when we plan to elope? We are planning a reception at a later date where we plan to invite friends and family, but the ceremony will be intimate with only a couple of immediate family members. TIA

    The etiquette is not to invite people to pre-wedding parties that aren't invited to the wedding.

    Eloping followed by a delayed celebration is fine. Unfortunately, you can't have it both ways. It would be considered inappropriate to agree to pre-wedding parties that include guests not invited to the wedding.
