Bridal Party Getting Ready Outfits

Star, on July 7, 2019 at 2:59 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 27
I LOVE comfort and so it makes sense that I’ve fallen in love with these ideas of bridal party rompers, tanks, & shorts options for bridal part get ready outfits. However I’m not sure if they’d really wear them again; therefore 1) it wouldn’t really be a gift and 2) would therefore be actually more of a “prop” just for my day/pictures and 3) I don’t want to spend money on items that not only will just be worn like once or twice but also want to give them something they’ll actually love and appreciate.
Also I do think if I do go with this I’ll more so lean towards the shorts and tank option since that seems the most comfortable and least “photo op” themed. Again I do love the rompers too and the look of them. Just not sure if my brain is clouded by the Pinterest trends though and that I’m probably just being selfish perhaps/not thinking logically.
Advice much appreciated!

Rompers are not comfortable if they don't fit right/can be extremely unflattering. Getting reading outfits aren't necessary, but ask your girls what they would be most comfortable in.

I purchased my girls black silk bomber jackets and I’ll get them black softie shorts to go with them. I know that they’ll wear them again, except for maybe my sister but 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you want matchy-matchy, my cousin just had us wear 1 of 3 specific colored button down shirts. It worked pretty well because a lot of us borrowed our SO’s dress shirts!

The rompers are cute in photos. But I think if someone bought me a romper and told me I had to wear it to get ready, the look on my face might accidentally kill them.
I guess I'd say it's really up to you. But I'd probably skip the idea - granted I dont want getting ready photos 🤷‍♀️

I did get my girls robes, but nothing that came off as "bridal" so they can hopefully reuse them again. I ordered them each a color that they would like and didn't care if it went with my theme or not.

    (Ignore the wrinkles)

I'm getting my bridesmaids pajamas from JCrew or JCrew Factory. (https://factory.jcrew.com/p/womens-clothing/loungewear/pajamasets/knit-pajama-short-set/H5994). They're cute, comfortable and I hope they will wear them again! I also have two floral robes I still use from being a bridesmaid in past weddings that were great in photos too.

I think robes are overracted and probably wont be worn again. I will be asking my girls to wear flannel or button down shirts for getting ready

Rompers can be uncomfortable if not the right fit, and every one is different. I’d lean towards the tank and shorts. Robes are also uncomfortable for me and I would never wear it again, whether it said my name on it or not.

I chose a few clothing items that are sunflower patterned (skirt, tank, romper, dress) and had them vote for what they'd rather wear. I will be getting them whatever they chose most comfortable, and having them wear that. We won't all be "matching" but we'll be similar.

I’m going with zip hoodies because we all decided on wanting to wear yoga pants to get ready. I’m going for comfort too!

Try avoiding anything that says "bridesmaid" - most people won't wear it again. I think pajamas are a great idea!

Are you set on getting them the outfits? If you are, I'd definitely do the robe vs. the pj's. If you aren't set on them, I would suggest something that's easily going to be used: wine tumbler (Etsy), big water bottle, gift cards to their favorite restaurant.

I purchased my girls robes from kohl’s and spent less than $12 on each with my addition coupons.
These are an added bonus on top of their gift

Keep in mind if these are to wear for hair and makeup anything that comes off over the head isn’t the best option. Tank tops may be problematic if you have an up-do, lots of curls etc.

Well I am thinking of doing the robes myself or maybe on of those because they are cute too but I was thinking of maybe getting them a necklace as well because I feel like they will rewear it unlike the “bridesmaids” shirts or robes
