Bracelet or no bracelet?

Rosie, on February 8, 2022 at 7:43 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 2 23

So I'm supposedly (all things going well) picking up my dress TOMORROW! AHHH! So exciting and nerve wracking! I'd planned to wear fairly simple, understated jewellery. These earrings:

Bracelet or no bracelet? 1

and a small peach sapphire necklace like this:

Bracelet or no bracelet? 2

My dress currently has 3/4 ish sleeves, so I figured a bracelet would be maybe too much. But I've been mulling over a bangle that used to be my grandmother's I've had in my jewellery box for years and thinking it could be a sweet, sentimental thing? Obviously, I'll try it on with the dress tomorrow and see, but I wanted a second opinion! Here it is:

Bracelet or no bracelet? 3

I'm very torn - I just keep thinking of that Chanel quote about taking off one accessory before you leave, you know? The pros and cons are:

Pros -

sentimental, kind of sweet

MORE BLING Y'ALL!

Cons -

the little hooks keeping the stones in could get caught in the net of my veil

it might clash with the sleeve length/look unnecessary

thoughts?

Ooooooo, that’s tricky! I think it’s pretty but the whole getting caught might be a problem. I wore a watch that kept getting caught in a dress I wore to a wedding and it was bothersome and snagged part of my dress. But ultimately I’d say go with it if you feel it completes your look!

Thanks.. that's exactly what I'm thinking will happen! My dress is mikado so I'm not too worried about snagging on it (although you never know!) but I thought the veil might - I haven't tried my veil on yet! I guess I'll just try it tomorrow and try to consider the practicalities then!

Go for it! It’s beautiful and sentimental. You can always remove and store in a safe place if it’s giving you trouble.

I love it! If you can't bling out on your wedding day, then when can you?? The bracelet is so sweet and sentimental. It will look gorgeous, too.

That is true... I will be taking my wedding shoes off at some point for sure, so there will definitely be a spot to store things I've brought.

Aww, thank you! I've never really had anywhere to wear it before, so it has just sat in my jewellery box!

Can you think of maybe a pearl bracelet or tennis bracelet instead?

I think it is gorgeous - I agree with Shannon - wear it and remove it for a safe spot if it is bothering you/ getting caught. I adore your peach sapphire pendent Smiley love

I do have a pearl one, and there’s also a bracelet that perfectly matches the earrings, but I was thinking more of the sentimentality of this bracelet than having any great desire to wear one otherwise if that makes sense?

Aww thank you! It was a Christmas gift from my fiancé and the stone in it came from the same packet of stones as the ones in my wedding band!

A very beautiful and cute bracelet. I think you need to try it on with the dress and then decide.

It is worth trying it! Bring it with you and if it doesn't work out then that is okay too. I couldn't say for sure until I see it all together but there is a strong possibility that it will work.

I agree with this! I love the idea of incorporating anything sentimental into the wedding, plus you can always remove it or not wear it if you feel like it doesn't go with your look. Another option could be securing it around the stems of your bouquet.

Agreed! Counterpoint to the Chanel quote –

    Bracelet or no bracelet? 4

That's a good idea. I'll get a picture with it all and see how I feel looking at it as a whole.

Yes that's an option! On reflection though, knowing myself, I think I'm likely to put the bouquet down and wander away at some point, so maybe not an ideal solution for me, lol!

I love it! See how it looks, but the sentimental aspect has me all in.
