Bend Oregon honeymoon

J, on December 9, 2016 at 12:14 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 11

Yes or no??

We are from Texas and are dying to see snow and get some skiing in.

I would love to go to Seattle, but with our time share, there are no resorts near "ski" spots.

We've come down to Bend, Oregon, Steamboat Springs, Co. Or Vail, Co.

I like the idea of bend. I like what I've read on the town, etc. Plus, the view from our lodging option is sooooo romantic.

But I would love to hear about experiences with either location. We'll be going early/mid April. Thanks in advance!

I'm Jessica, btw! I'm new here and am wondering why I didn't download this app sooner

Bend is wonderful. I live a few hours away from there. However, I'm not sure how much snow will be there in April if that is what you're looking for.

Regardless of snow or not, it's a great town to explore!

ETA: the quality came out horrible on the app. But it says that there was an average of 0 inches of snow in April.

    And welcome!

Ya, you're going to be hard pressed to find a resort open for skiing in April in the PNW. I live in Seattle and most all of ours are closed by March. :-/

@Samantha- seriously, Seattle is soooo gorgeous and amazing I would love to go there and not even care if I see any snow. But fiancé is so set on snow or a day (at least) of skiing! Lol

@bb2017- Colorado is absolutely breath taking. I've only been to Co. Springs/Denver area but I honestly am so in love with it there. I may never want to come home! I've never been to Oregon so I can't gush over it either!! I only came across bend because of a Google search that said Mt. Bachelor was good skiing in April. Does it snow in April at either Colorado location, do you know?

Thank you, btw! Our little boys name is Cooper and he's literally the funnest kid EVER. (I'm partial, though)

I think some years they have some spring skiing but it can vary year to year. As others have mentioned even March can be late for some of the resorts to stay open but you never know.

Vail is soooOoooooOoo boring! Personally I recommend Park City, Utah for romantic..but earlier. April you'll be hard pressed to find good snow anywhere.

I used to live there for a few years and I love Breckenridge too, I have been there more than the other places. To me anywhere is co is prime time for outdoors!

I live in bend and I'm having my wedding at a lake near mt bachelor. Honestly every year is different with snow. Last year it snowed for the first time a week before thanksgiving. This year it didn't snow until 2 days ago. That could mean that our winter will be longer or not. Regardless, mt. bachelor should still be open for skiing in early April. But bend is such a lovely place and oh so romantic. There's no other place in the world like Bend. It has everything, it's an anomaly.
