Bali or Japan ???

Febrina, on April 18, 2020 at 7:29 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 5
I’m from Indonesia and my fiancé is an American who is never been to Indonesia because I’ve been living in the US with my parents since 5 years ago.
Anyway, I really wanna go to Japan but my fiancé really wanna go to Bali. I don’t wanna go to Bali because I went to Bali so many times 😭😭, but it’s kinda good because then he will meet my big family in Indonesia, but I really really wanna go to Japan so bad !!! Confused 🤦🏻‍♀️.

Bali for him is nice to see your family but he could plan an extended layover with flight through japan this way both are covered. Indonesia was amazing Bali is good but so many other places also.

    Hi Febrina!

If you've never been to Japan, maybe you can talk to him about going there for your honeymoon to both experience Japan for the first time together. Then the next trip you guys plan can be Bali. Another way, depending on how long your honeymoon will be and if you have the funds for it, you can split your honeymoon time and visit both places. I wish you the best in whatever you decide. Good luck!

Do you want to see your family on your honeymoon, or do you want to honeymoon on your honeymoon?

That's what I would say to him. If you go anywhere *near* family, they will want to see you. Which is fabulous! ...But maybe not when you are looking for that alone time with your new spouse. (This is one of the reasons DH and I chose Disney World. Family couldn't ask for our time!)

A layover isn't a bad idea, but it would probably take longer, and I don't know your vacation situation.

That said, if you are looking to travel internationally this year, *please* stay flexible. There's simply too much going on to be absolutely secure in your planning, so make sure you have a Plan B!

JAPAN IS AMAZZZZING! I have been to Japan 2 times. Stayed in Yokosuka but traveled all over! It is beautiful! Could you possible work out where you could do both?
