Bahamas, Mexico VS Dominican Republic

We are doing Bahamas... closer to the US and we just like it better.

I would do Mexico or Dominican Republic. I personally think they are nicer than the Bahamas. Mexico has soo many all inclusives resorts to chose from.

The one thing I am really hoping to do is swimming with dolphins. :-) hopefully they have that at one of these resorts.

I went to DR with my Dad on a business trip and had a ball. They have a lot of extra trips you can do. We stayed at a business hotel and not a inclusive resort so I had more of the "real" DR. I dont know of any dophins, but we went on a booze sail cruise that we stopped in the middle of the ocean to go snorkling which was awesome! then spent the rest of the day on an island where we could snorkle and had an open bar. It was a lot of fun. If you choose DR, I hope you like rum and presidente.

We're doing Mexico! Not sure where you're located, but for us it was the only place we could go without being a lot of extra travel times and plane stops.

Bahamas is beautiful!

Went to the DR this Feb and loved it. Just to warn you - the "dolphin swimming" is actually a boat that takes you out to an area in the ocean that is pretty much fenced off and the dolphins are in an enclosure in the ocean. It's pretty lame IMO.

We went to Sandals in the Bahamas and swam with dolphins. We had an amazing time.

@mkebride I think that might be great for me because I am terrified of sharks lol. I just want to meet the dolphins I know that sounds weird lol

I would do the DR. I've heard good things about the resorts there.

I have been to all three and would go back to DR first. After a pretty sizeable gap, Mexico and Bahamas would be basically tied.

I would focus more on the brand of resort you are staying than where, because the brand makes such a huge difference! Your money will go a bit farther in the DR, than the Bahamas, but Mexico is definitely a great bang for your buck! The Bahamas dollar is the same as the US dollar. We honeymooned in Riviera Maya, Mexico and it was absolutely beautiful and we had an AMAZING time!! Highly recommend Secrets Silversands. The beaches in the Bahamas are nicer though - the beaches on the Yucatan Peninsula (MX) are rocky, not great for swimming.

DR/Mexico your money will go further. Especially flight/all inclusive deals for Mexico.

Seconding PP who mentioned Cancun/Playa/Tulum if you want to swim with dolphins.

I don't think you can go wrong between these three, but I have a slight preference for Mexico. You can definitely swim with dolphins there. No matter where you go, it sounds like you are going to have such an amazing time!!
