Back Acne in a wedding dress-not cute!

Caterina, on May 10, 2021 at 7:16 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 2 33
I recently just chose my wedding dress! Its strapless, and completely open back. One problem-back acne. It starts on the back of my neck and down my spine, a long with some near my shoulder. Its gross. I put alcohol to dry it out. Doesnt work well. Some red spots are turning brown because theyve been there so long and picked at. Is there any creams or remedies that can help this??

I love generic 10% benzoyl peroxide acne cream (walmart, target, CVS, etc) all have a generic version or should carry a brand name

I would talk to a dermatologist to see what they can give you. My daughter struggles with that too but they have put her on some medication to help.

My FH has terrible acne all over. His got much better when he cut dairy out of his diet. My brother, on the other hand, uses the cream ScandalousRandallous mentioned when his acne gets bad. My recommendation would be to try the 10% benzoyl peroxide cream and if that doesn't help to then go visit a dermatologist. If you are able to, try an elimination diet to see if there is something causing inflammation in your body. I don't know if you have health/food concerns that prohibit that kind of diet but it really can make a difference if your body doesn't process certain foods well. Allergens in your environment can also contribute to severe acne breakouts. Mine always acts up when it is allergy season in the Spring and Summer but otherwise is fine the rest of the year.

I used to have bacne in high school and found that the Neutrogena body wash for acne control really helped clear it up. It’s inexpensive and definitely worth a try!

Use a back wash brush or loofah with the stick. Yes back facials girl. If anything mask with clay (draws out oil) then moisturize.
Alcohol scabs them over and creates scars. I have psoriasis all over my body and keratosis palorisis. I have been using First Aid Beauty KP bump scrub on my body its amazing. It has ahas and bhs (chemical exfoliants with the physical like the pumice) They just came out with a lotion for after the scrub. Murad makes a nice acne body wash. It kills anything lol.

Putting alcohol on it is honestly the worst thing you can do, talk to a dermatologist.

Talk to a dermatologist! Every body is different and has different causes and reactions. Consult the doc.

Agree with the ladies here, you should let your dermatologist check it!

Stay away from the alcohol. All it is doing is drying your skin out, which actually can trigger your body to produce more oil as it tries to balance itself.

    Ingredients that work for this:
    Benzoyl peroxide
    Salicylic acid
    Glycolic acid

Benzoyl can be irritating, so I would generally suggest starting with salicylic acid, which is much more gentle. Neutrogena's body wash, the pink grapefruit one, is good for this. You always want to start with the least potent product, because if it doesn't work, you can go up from there, and higher concentrations come with a greater chance of irritation, so if it works at 0.5% salicylic acid, there's no reason to go to 2% until it stops responding. More is not always better in these cases.

I used to have horrible back and arm acne when I was younger, it has cleared up on its own overtime but I was left with major scarring from picking and it still flares up every once in a while.

For the brown spots and scarring you mentioned I highly recommend Bio-Oil! I used it every day and my scars cleared up rather quickly.

Also I plan on getting a back facial prior to my wedding!

Salicylic acid! Get a good BHA product. The inkey list (affordable option) has a salicylic acid cleanser that can be used on face and body. I also love the Paula’s choice liquid BHA (pricier). Do not use any scented lotions on top either

I love this stuff, it is the only thing that has ever worked for me! Just keep in mind any products you try, your skin will get worse before it gets better. Start now, then it will be clear and beautiful for your wedding!
