It depends on what is common in your social circle so ask them what is most convenient. Old school tradition common during parents’ generations and prior was the night before the wedding after the rehearsal dinner. That is when everyone is in the same area without having to use limited PTO. The destination weekend trips only came into existence with Instagram celebrity culture and is not feasible for everyone due to costs involved and sometimes personalities don’t mesh.

I also think it depends on the time of the year…most people would not do their bach/lorette parties in the North between Nov-March due to possibility of poor travel conditions of snow/ice. My daughter’s bachelorette part is mid-June, her FH bach party is end of June & they will be married Sept 3rd. I would say generally more than a month before but typically 2-3 months before. Also a lot depends on when/if you are having a shower & how convenient it is to home/family!

My bachelorette party is at the end of August and we are getting married September 17th ! My maid of honor works a lot ( she works as a correctional officer in a jail) so that’s the only weekend she could do something other then the weekend of my wedding ! My sisters bachelorette party was last month and she’s getting married this Friday! It honestly just depends 🤗

Whatever works for your schedule. I would just get together early enough where a COVID illness and isolation would not impact your wedding.

I think the stereotype of it being the night before is weird lol. i think it's better to have it when its more convenient for everyones schedule

We have our wedding next March, so to stay with nice weather my husband is having his bachelor party in August, and I am having my bachelorette in October. I have a friend taking the BAR in August and September is off-limits for me work-wise. We definitely didnt want to do something squarely in winter since I live in the midwest and weather can be incredibly unpredictable.

You can really do it whenever it's convenient for you and your party members. Personally, I'd never dream of going out drinking the night before the wedding, and I think it's great advice to go enough in advance that you won't have to worry about COVID isolation requirements in the event someone catches it. My bachelorette party is 3 weeks before the wedding, but FH is having his a few months before.
