Bach party

My best friend got married and had a small family-only wedding. Only 25 people attended and she and her husband didn’t even have a wedding party. As her friend, I was super hurt as we had always said we would be each other’s MOH when the time came.


She ended up not even having a bachelorette party either. That she did regret. It isn’t about the party but about spending time with your closest friends and hanging with the girls before getting married.
Everyone is different though. I think do what works for you.

I’m not having one and do not regret my decision. I’m having a quasi-destination wedding that all of my guests have to travel to and a small wedding party, so I would have felt guilty asking my MOH to put more time and expense in. Instead, I’m treating her to breakfast and manicures the morning of my wedding since the role is supposed to be an honor and I want to thank her for the time, money, and effort she’s putting in, so I’ll still have my fun relaxing girl time before we have to go back and start getting ready.

I didn’t have a wild bar hopping bachelorette party. My friends and I went got mani s and pedis then had a big sleepover with fun movies take out, daiquiris and cheesecake. It was a blast.

I don't regret not having a bachelorette or bridal shower. I partied big for many years, some luxury, some casual. Being engaged was part of a new life I set for myself. My wedding with my husband was the biggest, most glamorous party I've wanted to attend. You can be a bride in any way you want.

I didn’t have or want a bachelorette, and definitely not one of the stripper or heavy drinking variety. It would have meant asking people to travel in addition to the wedding, which I considered a burden and an imposition.
