August 2020 wedding

John, on July 6, 2020 at 2:16 AM Posted in Ohio Planning 0 10
Hi, I’m in Cleveland, was planning on going through with our 8/15/20 wedding with 150 people attending. With COVID cases up, second guessing myself. Anyone else having second thoughts or how you are justifying having it?

Ooof, I'm sorry. That's tough with so many places spiking.

What are the current guidelines, and how safe do you feel?
I'm in NJ, and that amount of people would only be allowed outdoors. Masked.

And even then... as a guest, I couldn't go (high risk).

8/15/2020 wedding here in Indiana too! I’m also second guessing because numbers are starting to rise again.

08/08/2020. Originally 285 people. Cancelled this over a month ago. I am in Canada and cases are much less than the US, and I still wouldn't do it. We are having a small ceremony with 10 people now. I don't know anyone who is continuing with their wedding plans this summer or September/October. Have you talked to your family/friends? See if you can get a sense of if they would even be comfortable attending.

We cut out numbers down to 40. Immediate family and wedding party (and their SOs) only. Our (already moved once) date is 8/16 and we didn't want to move it again.

Hi, I’m 10/24/20 in Columbus, OH. We are moving forward still....With many restrictions we’ve placed to try and make the best of it.

We are still moving forward in southeastern PA. 8/29/2020, about 160 invited guests, 120 guests expected Pre-Covid, and 75 guests who have RSVP'ed yes so far.

Hi John! I’d definitely take advantage of all of the outdoor spaces at your venue as much as possible!

I’ve also seen a few other Ohio couples discussing their plans for their August weddings in this post: Cincinnati August 2020 Wedding.

I'm in Cleveland too. We're getting married 10/10 and are planning on scaling down our 130-person guest list to 30. I haven't made the official call yet, but that's what it's looking like.

Part of the decision has been made for us by the restrictions imposed by our venue. However, even if they hadn't, I'd be considering this option because there's still so much uncertainty and risk.
