Audio For the Ceremony?

FutureMrs.C, on December 12, 2018 at 1:53 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 6

Hello! So, FH and I aren't getting married at a church. We are getting married in a garden (which isn't where the reception is going to be held), so I'm not sure what to do for A/V and music... Do I rent speakers/mics? I just need something for the music, and a mic for our officiant and for our vows. Not sure where to get these things or how to do this! Any one else in the same boat with some suggestions? I'm a little lost.

Are you having a DJ for your reception? They can usually provide the few things needed for a ceremony as well. That's what we're doing for ours.

Our ceremony is outside. Our DJ is providing speakers for music & a microphone for the officiant.

Our ceremony is outside too! Our DJ could have provided music/microphone/speakers but we decided to hire an acoustic guitarist who will be bringing a microphone and speakers. Does the garden have power? I didn’t think of this until our guitarist asked us. Our venue has outlets but he also has a wireless amp set we could have used if needed.

Our DJ is just doing our reception, but he said that he will let us use the equipment for the ceremony.

I think a microphone/ speaker set up is essential for an outdoor ceremony. Our DJ handled ours. Our ceremony was remote (on a beach) so we needed something that didn’t need to be plugged in. I think our dj actually ended up renting or borrowing that specific equipment, but he was willing /able/ had the resources to do so!

We are! I will just go over this with our DJ. I just feel bad because there is going to be a 1.5 hour gap between the ceremony and reception! I suppose that isn't too bad though
