Aruba - hotels that allow smoking

Stacy, on May 27, 2017 at 9:42 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 16

FH smokes a vaporizer. I have asthma, so we never stay in a smoking room at hotels. I'm seeing that the Marriott and Ritz Carlton have a non smoking policy. Is that just for in the rooms or everywhere? Are there any other nice hotels to stay at that are not all inclusive? And why the heck is the Ritz so expensive? Lol.

Not sure which Marriott you're looking at but the one we stayed at in Palm Beach had designated smoking areas outside. I'd be more concerned about ability to fly with a lithium battery if that's what the vaporizer is.

The Ritz is a 4 star hotel chain. It has certain standards to maintain and it's one of the high end hotels. It's like wondering why Fairmonts are so expensive.

I mean..vapor is just water. Im assuming you're just talking about a nicotine one and not a weed vaporizer. Unless it's a weed vaporizer it isn't going to leave a heavy scent at all. UO I guess.

The whole point of a vaporizer is that there is no smoke. The hotel only cares about the smoke smell and damage to the room. Go with non smoking and don't worry about it.

Most places in the US group smoking cigarettes and vaporizers together. He smokes fruity flavors with nicotine. I guess it would just smell like an air freshener.

I work for Marriott and all areas of the hotel (inside) are strictly non smoking. This includes vapes. (I don't understand that, but hey, that's just what we are told). They have designated areas outside all entrances, though.

I stealth vape all the time. Hotel housekeepers won't know and most likely will not go out of their way to discover his "secret." It will just smell like perfume or air freshener. I wouldn't leave the bottles out, though, and if you guys are nervous about the scent, exhale the vape into a towel or sweater. They'll never know. Trust my 8 years of experience. Smiley smile

Vaping every day with nicotine = smoking every day. Same addiction. I'd rather him be happy while on the honeymoon rather than miserable from lack of nicotine. Basically, him leaving it at home isn't an option unless he somehow quits before we leave.

As previous posters said... is going outside for 5 minutes an option?

No one asked if that was an option. Of course it is. Their websites just seem like there is a non smoking policy on the entire property.

@Stacy i responded early on that there are designated smoking areas outside. Not sure about airline travel though. Good luck.

My FH smokes a vaporizer too, and we've stayed in nonsmoking rooms without a problem. The vapor it produces is basically the same thing as the steam from a shower, so you really have nothing to worry about.

I use to work for Marriott and we would actually have the smoke alarms set off in rooms from vaps. Most places offer outside areas where you can smoke.

I guess I just need to figure out about flying with the batteries then.
