Aruba, Curacao, St Kitts?

Maggie N, on March 8, 2012 at 12:14 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 16

Okay, if you had to choose between Aruba, Curacao, or St Kitts for your honeymoon which would you choose? We will hopefully be going to an all-inclusive Marriott resort (long story, but it will be close to free so that's why we've got limited options!) on one of these 3 islands! Anyone been to them? Any loves or hates?

Maggie, Marriotts are not all-inclusive, so I would check on that (you might be getting some kind of a meail plan, but they are not true all-inclusive resorts). Of those three properties, I'd go with Aruba, then Curacao, then St. Kitts. They are all nice resorts, but Aruba offers much more as a destination in general. It's also much easier to get to, and the airfare should be less.

I love all three islands but Curacao and St. Kitts require more airline hops to get there; not to say it isn't worth it once you are there; I found Curacao and St. Kitts to be more layed back and Aruba offering more things to do for active travelers

In st Kitts there is an awesome zip lining tour that you can go on too that some of the people in my family went on and they said it was awesome. Stubs does have a lot more stuff to do and curacao you gotta watch out for the pit pocketers especially on the ferry

I would say St. Kitts...you could take a ferry over to their sister island, Nevis, while you're at it. We got a direct flight from Miami to St. Kitts for our honeymoon. We're going to spend the majority of our time in Nevis. It's only 2 miles away from St. Kitts. We're going to take our hotel's ferry from St. Kitts to Nevis that serves Rum Runners, etc. on it. I cannot wait!

Thanks ladies! WOW these forums are helpful! It sounds like St Kitts would be best! Don't want to be TOOO touristy, but I am an experienced traveler while my FH is not- so maybe St Kitts will be a good balance for us!

Aruba was great. Not only was there a constant breeze so the heat wasn't overwhelming, but there's plenty of fun activities and a great nightlife, if you're into that kind of thing. Or you can just lounge on the beautiful beaches :-)

We are going to Aruba for our honeymoon. We're not taking the HM until September this year, so we needed someplace outside of the hurricane belt. We've already been to Bonaire, so we wanted to try Aruba this time and Curacao next time. lol

We're staying at Eagle Beach, which is the quieter beach, but still have the options for nightlife, etc. I plan on doing a lot of reading and lounging on the beach.

Aruba! I go yearly with my family. All 3 marriott resorts there are wonderful! There is also a restaurant called Baveria right outside of the marriott that is to die for!

Going to have to say go with the Renaissance Aruba Resort

    http://nowdestinations.com/destinations/resorts/renaissance-aruba-resort

With Aruba, you're getting the best beaches in the world

Just compare an overhead of the two

    Curacao - http://bit.ly/Afu9Ft

    Aruba - http://bit.ly/xpRLMJ

Of course, the trade off is the Curacao Marriott is the more secluded of the two (as you can see)
