Are you putting any sentimental florals in your bouquet? Maybe you're including a relative's favourite flower, or putting in something that reminds you of a special place? Perhaps you're having the same flowers your mum had in her bouquet, or another relative!
I read once that just about every royal bride has included a sprig of Myrtle picked from the same bush as the one that Queen Victoria had in hers, and that Kate Middleton had sweet Williams in her bouquet which I thought was kind of adorable!
I was saying to my friend (our florist) that it's a shame, there really aren't any flowers with Scott (my fiance's name) in the title! But, we went to visit my parents, who very kindly said we are welcome to hack down anything in their garden to include in our florals, and I pointed out a tree which I thought was very beautiful. It turns out it is a wych elm, otherwise known as a Scot's elm! When I learned that, I thought it was fate, so I'm having some put in some of our decorations!
This is what a Scot's elm looks like - they have very bright, green leaves, which I love
Otherwise, I am having a lot of soft, ruffly roses in my bouquet like these David Austin Juliet roses -
Because obviously. With a name like Rosie, I couldn't NOT have roses!
So! Have you included any sentimental elements in your bouquet? Tell all!
