April or June outdoor wedding?

Carly, on January 11, 2019 at 10:58 AM Posted in Indiana Planning 0 9

Located in Indiana. Planning an outdoor ceremony. May dates are booked. Would you recommend a late April outdoor wedding or early June? Need to weigh out pros and cons of dates asap!

Where are you located? I think location/weather would be a big determining factor.

Im June 6, 2020! Im in NY but would pick June over April, its still kind of cold and sometimes still snow on the ground. Our ceremony is outside as well.

Where are you located? I'm in TX and June can get really hot down here so April would be a better month.

I agree...your location would definitely be the big determining factor! If it's on the east coast, I would definitely say April. It also depends on your preference. Our wedding is in October, mainly because we don't want to be hot and sweaty lol...however if your favorite season is summer then I would go for it! It just totally depends.

I would say probably June, as April might be a little cold! I live in NJ and last year we got snow through the last weekend of March, and April was still freezing. Even May was a bit cool. I feel like June will be a little warmer without getting into the summer heat.

I completely agree! Up there, you might have some cold and it's not unheard of to have snow that late in that part of the country. Plus, if you're planning on inviting children, you might have kids who are already out of school in early June, and therefore it's easier for the whole family to travel.

I'm from SE Indiana and currently live in Indy. I feel like April always has a chance of rain but June can have some of the hottest days of the summer. I would personally rather deal with heat than rain so I would go with June! I have went to an outdoor wedding in June and the ceremony was definitely kind of hot since we were sitting in the sun but their tented reception was the perfect temperature.

I think June would be a safe bet! School will be out and April might be a little chilly
