Anyone getting letterpress invitations?

Amanda, on April 12, 2016 at 2:46 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

If you are, where did you find them? And how much did they cost per suite and/or per invitation? I have always wanted letterpress invitations but I didn't realize they were so expensive! I know extra work goes into making them (I've taken a beginner letterpress class before) so I get the hike in price compared to digitally printed invitations. I was just wondering if there are any more affordable options out there for letterpress invites?

When you say they were so expensive, how much exactly? Have you looked at Wedding Paper Divas or Minted? Both those sites always have coupon codes for at least 20% off if you request a sample kit or sign up for their emails.

We did letterpress invites.. I found a woman on Etsy who was amazing. We ordered 50 invitations and I think the total was $350. That included her addressing all the envelopes in calligraphy. She did a beautiful job. We left room in the budget for it because I love letterpress Smiley smile

I've found WPD to be slightly less expensive than Minted. There's also MagnetStreet (I think they do letterpress). Wait for a sale/coupon code. If you sign up for emails, WPD sends out 30% discounts sometimes.

Me! I used to work at an invitation store, so invites have been a huge splurge for me.

Letterpress is super expensive, there's really no way around it ($3-$6 per card) But there are some extra charges you can avoid:

-Stick to 1 color ink, each additional color is extra

-Gold foil & metallics are extra

-Try to aim for as few separate pieces to the suite as possible

-Skip return address printing through the company and either do it yourself, or go somewhere cheaper

-See if you can stay with a fairly popular card size so you can order envelopes from somewhere else

That all being said, Etsy actually has some well priced letterpress options. A personal favorite of mine design-wise is Smock. Like @GrumpyCatRebecca said - Wedding Paper Divas and Minted both have letterpress options

@Sarah - those are gorgeous and a great price! Do you mind sharing the person's business name?

@Lynnie - of course! Her name is Vanessa Doyle - from Sweetly Said Letterpress on Etsy. We had her do a bunch of other letterpress items like menus, favor tags, etc.. She's the best!

We did letterpress from a stationer for ours. The invite suite without addressing were about $9 apiece....so not cheap. I love stationery and the shop we used, though, so I felt strongly about supporting the business and not using an online service. The finished product is absolutely gorgeous!

    Edited to clarify!

I'm ordered gold foil pressed invitations . I found a seller on Etsy that had great reviews for 75 % cheaper than others . Only $2.00 per invitation card they are also doing our table numbers , rsvp cards, menu and programs. The shipping is super expensive since they are shipping from Romania .
