So I'm not a fan of designer bridal gowns, they all end up looking a bit similar to me. Personally I dislike the whole bridal gown shop part of the wedding industry; seen enough of it with relatives and how costly/pressured/time consuming it all is. With my timeline limitations, I've decided to create my own look from custom pieces.
Anyone else take this route? I have a bodysuit ordered, and am going to review the armhole size/waist height upon arrival to determine measurements for my skirt/sleeves so that I get a complete look that works together.
I'd love to hear from others who have navigated doing this, whether it's success stories or nightmares from ordering off Etsy/meeting creators who could meet your specifications. What advice can you share, based on your custom look experience?
Also, veil making! I plan to make my own as I'm rather handy with a needle. Going for a Juliet cap veil with silk flowers at the ears and bias tape/a metal cap for structure. I'd love to hear from people who made veil-making a project, as I'm hoping to work with my mom on mine.
Happy DIYing!
