Any venue recommendations 5k budget ny area?

Samantha, on October 24, 2021 at 6:08 PM Posted in New York Planning 0 8

Hi there! I am super excited to be marrying the love of my life because he lives in the UK and this means we can finally close the gap! Because of the big distance, most of his family won't be able to afford coming to NY so we will also have a celebration over there. This means sticking to an overall budget of 5K for our NY wedding is crucial. I know it won't be impossible for a small wedding of 40-50 people but it's still been really hard. I'm struggling to find any venues that fit the budget that are not just a blank space. Any venue recommendations? Something with a more inclusive deal of services would be great. Ideally within the boroughs and Long Island as I live in Queens.

Look outside the box at blank slate venues that allow outside catering via eventective.com or peerspace.com

NY is the most expensive state to get married in the whole US. I'm getting married in that area and I highly doubt you'll be able to find anything unless you go with a public park or backyard. Even then you would still have to rent all the tables, chairs, lighting, etc.

Hi Samantha! That will definitely be tough!! Catering (food & booze) alone in NY will cost $150-$250 per person!!

Here are a few NYC venues that look worth reaching out to for pricing:

    Smooth Sailing Celebrations

Prospect Park Picnic House (ask about their micro wedding deal!)

    Celestine in Brooklyn

    Loews Regency New York Hotel

Loft 29 (blank space but affordable rental rate)

    Amali Restaurant

    Washington Square Hotel

    1 Hanover Square

City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill in Westbury

    Thank you so much Lynnie!

I've luckily been able to get some quotes on $85+ pp so I think it just requires a lot more digging and patience than I was expecting. But I will add these to the list. I appreciate your help!

What are you envisioning, were you planning on a daytime or evening event, weekend or weekday, dj and dancing or just a nice dinner or brunch? I was just at a lovely Brunch wedding on a Friday afternoon in NY ( not the city though). No clue how expensive it was but it was lots of brunch food, wine, beer, mimosas, coffee and desserts no dancing. About 35 people.

We're open to a lot of different things. I guess I envisioned a nice space to eat, dance, and celebrate but I don't want a blank space where we would have to worry about setting many things up.
