Any October brides already postpone?

Haley, on May 7, 2020 at 11:35 PM Posted in Washington Planning 0 3
Anyone else postpone their fall wedding already? My fiancé and I were getting married at end of October 2020, but we were getting worried about a second wave of the virus and also what a wedding would look like with social distancing needing to be in place. Anyone else make a super early choice to postpone? We feel very weird about it, but all (except one) of our vendors were accommodating and moved to 2021 for no cost.

Hi Haley! That's awesome about your vendors!!

You're definitely not the only one who has decided to make an early call! Here's a discussion where Oct-Dec couples have been debating postponing: Wedding postpones and you can connect with other couples who've already made the call in these convos:

October bride and state employee here. Our wedding is not officially postponed to 2021, but it probably will be in the next few weeks. We are planning to have a very small civil ceremony this year, and the actual reception next year. It is my opinion that postponing is the smart and respectful thing to do. I want my family and friends to be healthy and safe, and I want to honor my deposits to my vendors who are very much struggling.

It is unlikely we will leave Phase 3 this year, or without a better treatment option and a vaccine.

We were originally a July 26th wedding and then moved to September 6th and now just a few days ago made the call to postpone to Summer 2021 because we didn't feel the fall/winter was all that likely either. (for the type of wedding we want, 150 people, dancing, etc). I totally get your feelings though! It's tough!
