Any brides here who chose Sylvanside Farms for their venue?

Hey ladies! I recently booked Sylvanside Farms as our wedding venue for September 2022, and I’m so excited! I love the venue and all the unique add ons they include, and I think it’s going to turn out great. There are a few rules and restrictions, however, that I was hoping some of you may be able to sooth my anxiety on! I truly don’t know what’s normal for a wedding venue and don’t know much about what goes on behind the scenes for weddings.
So far, one of the coordinators I reached out to mentioned Sylvanside Farms rules and restrictions without prompt, and one of the DJ’s I emailed for a quote said they don’t even do weddings at Sylvanside Farms anymore because they have “exceptionally strict noise ordinances” I guess they have to keep at 85 decibels they entire time due to potential noise complaints by neighbors?
I really want our day to be fun and stress free and I guess I need some reassurance that stuff like this is normal for venues in this area. I have a lot of anxiety and all I can think is the music is going to be so low that our reception is just lame and no one dances lol. Thanks everyone!

I found this link that explains decibel levels in terms of wedding receptions:

The average dance floor music at a wedding reception is 95-110. That doesn’t sound like much, but the difference between 85 dB and 95 dB is actually DOUBLE. To give a frame of reference, the average dishwasher in a home is 80 dB. 85 dB music is definitely going to be much lower than the “average” dance floor music at a reception. But if you are not going for a “dance party“ vibe, it may be OK. On a positive note, it is much healthier for your hearing as well.

I had to do some decibel research as well! But my research said 85 decibels is comparable to a food blender or garbage disposal - definitely loud enough that your guests would have to yell over the music to be heard! 😆

You can also check the official noise ordinances for Loudon County that all venues need to abide by - the only one mentioned in Sylvanside Farm's FAQs is that events must end by 11 pm!

You can also check out their newlywed reviews to see if any other couples have mentioned noise complaints or restrictions: Reviews for Sylvanside Farm on WeddingWire.
