Any Brides Doing Hora Loca for The Wedding?

MrsLaguna, on December 22, 2014 at 1:59 PM Posted in Planning 1 27

Are you any of you doing the Hora Loca? I am looking for a company that provides the service and I wanted some recommendations or suggestions. Also those that are doing it or did it at their wedding do you think it was worth the extra cash?

You just give out props & maybe a band to get the party started, why would you need a company to do that?

I'm not doing it but a friend of mine did and she got all the things she needed from her DJ. Depending on price & if your crowd loves to party then I say its definitely worth it. It was very fun at her wedding

Sounds fun! It also sounds like something you could DIY pretty easily.

Translated, it means, "Crazy Hour". From what I've read, this almost sounds like a carnival blowing through your wedding reception. Noisemakers, big eyeglasses, props...okay, I guess. Beyond that, I don't really see the point. It sounds like having professional dancers and stilt walkers perform would be another significant wedding related expense., if you've got the money and want it, go for it. I just hope the wedding industry isn't going to be saying in three years that every wedding has to have an Hora Loca to be successful. Weddings are already prohibitively expensive without them.

Yeah there are event companies here that specialize in Hora Loca meaning they coordinate the dancers and the stilt walkers. One of my friends did it for her wedding and it turned out great. Just wanted to see if any bride had done it or how they did it to get an idea and to see if hiring one of these event companies was worth it.

I am! I've been buying some props from Aliexpress. Where has everyone been buying props? And what have you been getting?

The La Hora Loca, also known as Crazy Hour, is a Latin wedding tradition. A skilled Latin Wedding DJ can easily accommodate this. We do many of them here in Orlando. Our DJ Ray Vales is amazing at them~ www.djsoundwave.net

Hora Loca Show: The carnivalesque mini-bash is a "transitional hour between the traditional wedding reception and the after-party", (Well Almost an hour: it usually lasts only about 45 minutes).

Tipically , hora loca show, take place toward the end of the evening, when guest are dragging their metaphorical and literal heels.

Lights dim, drums thump, sirens blare and the energy suddenly zooms to 11.

The majority of weddings are asking for it.

"I believe that wedding should have some sort of wow factor", the hora loca is definitely a wow factor.

This is a "new trend" brought back by the Latin-American culture. Us Latinos like to party! lol La hora local is the time to unwind de-strees and let loose on the dance floor with crazy glasses and funny props. Many SoFL vendors will specialize in this type of event. I have worked with really good vendors that I can recommend.

The best Hora Loca in Florida is Black and Wine... Always amazing and I have been fortunate to shoot a few weddings where the couple had them as part of their reception...
