Antigua vs St . Lucia

Summerfield Bride, on January 18, 2015 at 11:48 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 8

Help! We are trying to decide between sandals

Antigua and sandals st. Lucia. We currently have reservations for st Lucia, splitting our trip at the regency la toc and grande st Lucian. We were about to book our flights and got cold feet wanting to make sure we make the right decision. We mainly care about the resort offerings as we are not much into exploring, just want to have a relaxing fun time. Thoughts on the 3? Who has been recently? Thanks!

Well you definitely are not going to go wrong with St. Lucia. I went there a few years ago and stayed at Cotton Bay. We toured the island and literally went by every hotel there was. LOL! The two you are looking at are highly rated. The whole island is so relaxing and romantic.

I've never been to Antigua but by all accounts it is also a fabulous place. You have a hard choice.

We almost had to make the same exact decision and we were going to choose sandals Antigua. The water and island looked a lot nicer then st. Lucia. But we ended up choosing dominican republic bc we were able to stay 4 days longer for half the price.

I am getting Married @ Sandals Antigua in 60 days! I will let you know how it is when i get back :-) We were deciding between Antigua and St. Lucia... the deciding factor was the water is the more aqua blue in Antigua and on the aqua green side in St.Lucia. Silly reason to choose over water color but i always envisioned the blue aqua water for my wedding... So Antigua it is!

I went to both islands on a cruise in February and I personally loved the island of St. Lucia a LOT more overall, but I enjoy the mountain/jungle type islands and I also was there to explore. In Antigua we just went to the beach, but they have the most beautiful beaches so if that is what you like I think Antigua might be more your style. The St. Lucian beaches weren't anything to sneeze at though! We took a powerboat ride back to the pier past those resorts and they looked beautiful.

    Hi Summerfield Bride-

I`ve been to both Antigua and St. Lucia - either one of the island is a great honeymoon choice if you wish to just relax and enjoy each other. However, if you are beach lovers and like crystal clear waters - Antigua is your choice - Sandals Antigua is one of my favorite places. On the other hand, St. Lucia will offer more dining options as you can hop around the 3 properties there.

If you wish to discuss more options and would like me to find you a great place for your honeymoon feel free to contact me - I am certified honeymoon and destination wedding specialist and will be glad to assist with your dream vacation.

Hello my name is Kelly and I am owner of Travel by Kelly, a platinum Sandals resorts agency. A big Congrats on your engagement. Planning your honeymoon can be super exciting but a bit overwhelming at the same time, trying to make choices, I know. First off Both Antigua and St Lucia are awesome choices, I have been to both islands and all the Sandals resorts many times!!! I would say that St Lucia is definitely a more tropical rainforest type island where Antigua is more of a beachy feel island. They both really have there different personalities as do the resorts themselves. I usually like to talk all this over with my clients and find out what they really want and what better suits there needs. It would be my pleasure to help you in anyway, answer questions, make suggestions. I have been to every single Sandals resort and I am more than willing to share all my info and expertise. feel free to reach out to me anytime, you can check out my store front and reviews here on wedding wire.

Have fun with all your wedding planning and remember to have fun!

    Love more....Dream more....Travel more....Kelly

    Hi Katya!

I know this is a post from a while ago, but I read that you are a certified honeymoon specialist. We are considering Antigua, as well, as we won a silent auction for two 7-night trips, to 2 different resorts there and it would be really nice to cut some of the costs by using those 2 resort packages. However, we are concerned with Antigua’s status since Hurricane Irma (I think it was), and I think I remember that Antigua was hit HARD. So, we are hoping for some solid information of the conditions of the island and if it is back up and running, or still recovering from the hurricane damage (I’m a Hurricane Katrina survivor, so I know how INCREDIBLY long it can take to rebuild and get everything back to “normal”. Do you happen to have any inside information from anyone who has recently travelled there for a honeymoon? We would GREATLY appreciate it if you knew anything about it’s status and wouldn’t mind sharing with us. Thank you SO much, in advance. Smiley smile Sarah-Gant
