Anniversary

Michelle, on March 2, 2022 at 4:25 PM Posted in Married Life 1 2
Hello ladies! Our anniversary is coming up next month. We’re going on a cruise with 2 other couples & will be at sea on our anniversary. I’m trying to think of a gift that I can give him. It has to be small enough to go in my suitcase. I did a boudoir shoot & gave that to him as a wedding present so I don’t want to do that again. Any ideas are welcome! TYA!

First year's traditionally paper, so -

What about something like Ellie's "Adventure Book" from Up? You could start it with some of the adventures you've already had (while you were dating and in your first year of marriage) and then leave pages to fill in together as time goes on?

Or tickets to something he would love to go to, but wouldn't normally splurge on?

Or you could get one of those star chart things from Etsy (where they show the stars' position where you were the night you got married)?

The other thing is, he isn't a little kid, so you can take a picture of it or bring a picture of it (or whatever) and not have to transport the gift itself. So, really, the world is your oyster.

An early happy anniversary to you!! Are you following the traditional anniversary gifts (or maybe the modern anniversary gifts)? If so, check out this article, there are some interesting ideas in it: https://www.theknot.com/content/1-year-anniversary-gift-ideas

If doing the traditional anniversary gifts (paper for the first year), you could do something like have an artist paint or draw one of your wedding photos, or have one of your wedding photos printed with your vows (or even the lyrics from your first dance) on them, or a book of ideas of things to do at the places you'll be visiting on your cruise, or a Book Of The Month subscription, or a map where you scratch off the places you visit?
    Anniversary 1

If doing the modern anniversary gifts (clock for the first year), you could do a nice watch, or a firefighter themed clock (if I remember correctly, your husband is a firefighter, right?).
    Anniversary 2

If not doing any of the traditional or modern gifts, you could always do something like a subscription box to something that matches his interests, or a photo book with pictures from throughout your first year as a married couple, or a hammock, or anything cruise/travel/vacation themed!
