Am i The Only One Searching for The Perfect Longwear Lipstick?

Christy, on January 21, 2022 at 5:01 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 3 11
I have been searching for the perfect lipstick for almost a year now! My go-to lipstick is Revlon Colorstay Overtime in Infinite Raspberry. I’ve worn it for over 5 yrs and it is a perfect longwear lipstick (no drying, fading, or wearing off & truly lasts at least 16 hrs on me & sometimes more). The only problem is, it tends to fade in pictures, so I’ve been searching for a more intense version of the color (deep, rosy pink). I’ve also tried numerous reds…but they ALL tend to wear off in patches (even lip sense) after just a few hours. What’s everyone doing for their lips? I’m thinking of just wearing my tried & true Infinite Raspberry, but I don’t want my lips to disappear 😭

Anastasia Beverly Hills is my go-to long-wearing lipstick. I generally only have to put it on twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the late afternoon. Go to Sephora so you can check out all the colors. I have several that I rotate through. Good luck!

Thanks Sara! I haven’t tried that one yet. Does it transfer? I want to be able to kiss my new husband without making a mess of our faces!

I really like Huda Beauty liquid matte ultra comfort.
I also like Chanel rouge allure ink, the Sephora liquid lipsticks and the maybelline superstay matte ink longwear lipsticks!
Or, you could buy some of that lipstick sealer, lipcote!

I tried the Maybelline Superstay. Unfortunately, the bolder colors wear off on me (in ugly patches 😬). I have consistently heard good things about the Sephora lipsticks.

Ohhh that’s annoying! I mostly have the paler ones

Yes the Sephora ones are pretty good!

I guess your other option would be like, a lip stain.

I've used lipsense but I can't say I was that thrilled...I do like lipstains though.

Anastasia Beverly Hills and Too Faced are the best quality in my experience. I’m not a fan of the matte look and unfortunately that tends to be the only selection they offer. Ask your makeup artist what they use since they have tricks to make it last for hours without budging

Hi Christy! I don’t have a great answer but am in exactly the same boat (have never found a bold color one that doesn’t come off in patches around the lip) so let’s keep comparing notes. Smiley smile so far, for me the maybelline ink line has worked the best compared to more expensive brands, but still not trustworthy enough.

Lipsense is the best stuff everr!!! Seriously lasts all day, doesn't wipe off and looks great. If you don't know anyone that sells it, or aren't into direct sales, Stila Stay All Day is a good option! You can find that at Ulta.

I use to sell Lipsense and when color comes off in patches like that, it’s usually because your lips are getting dry or had dead skin in those spots. I would start exfoliating your lips regularly (you can buy one or make your own -tons of recipes on Pinterest!) and putting on a moisturizing balm or gloss before bed at night. That helped me immensely! For my MU trial, she used Covergirl Outlast 2 step application and it never felt dry and the color wasn’t patchy and that was without her applying the top coat/sealer. I plan to buy some to try on a regular basis to make sure it will hold up. If not, I’m going back to my Lipsense.
