Am i being crazy? Lol

Sarah, on February 3, 2020 at 10:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 33
Not one of my bridesmaids has their dress. I’ve been engaged a year and the wedding is in April. I’m pretty annoyed so I messaged all of them asking for updates and they didn’t seem to be in a hurry to get their dresses. I’m not sure how to handle this.

That’s crazy! If those dresses need to be special ordered at all then they’re unlikely to have them in time from what I understand

Hi! My wedding is also in April and out of my 8 bridesmaids, 5 have their dresses. I also just gave them some guidelines and let them pick their own dresses. But, I did ask them to send me pictures so I can make sure they all look cohesive and so that no one buys the same dress. A few weeks ago I sent them all texts with a picture of the dresses that have been purchased already and said that if anyone needs help finding I dress I am more than happy to. Which helped because two more girls bought dresses after that!

    Hi Sarah,
OMG, I understand your frustrations, I actually was afraid of such a thing happening with my bridesmaids, so I decided to buy their dresses as part of their gifts, i don't know your colors obviously, but if you can't get your dresses in time, jjshouse, offers many dresses in 40 colors, they are made to order, and I had them within 30 days, my dress was style 105912, if you care to look!!
    Good luck, and don't stress!

I would definitely urge you to have them order ASAP - especially if it’s coming from China, as I’ve heard shipments are being delayed due to coronavirus. You also want them to have time for alterations if needed! Give them a hard deadline where they need to have their dress ordered by.

I think you need to take control of the situation and take them shopping or otherwise get the girls together to get their dresses.
If you leave them to their own devices they will not prioritize it as you will - or as I see it, you want something done, do it yourself - get them on the bandwagon!

If your wedding is two months away, they probably are going to have to buy off the rack or at least on Amazon Prime. I would honestly call each one of them and just say hey the wedding is at this time and day. I need your dress ordered ASAP. This isn't nice. But if they don't have their dresses in time, then they're just going to have to be guest. I hope they don't logically think that they can be by your side. If they did not do the washing they are supposed to do and that's get the dress.

Honestly, you have now reached a point where being angry would not be considered a bridezilla move. And if they do think that, then they really must not be friends. My girls have had their dresses since December for my April wedding - I was debating a reminder text to make sure they all have their alterations scheduled. I would call them all and explain that with ahipping it will take time. They need to look soon.

That's crazy!!! I would be tripping. I would tell them kindly but sternly that they need to get their dresses asap as options are now limited to them. I know you probably don't want to tell them they can't be bridesmaids if they don't, but I mean come on!! I'm getting married in April too and only my MOH has just purchased her dress last night. She is rush ordering hers at this point. I honestly hope they understand the time crunch and start a move on it. At this point, Amazon will be their best friend. Really sorry that they are slacking on this. Definitely not cool so close to the wedding.

Oh no! Like one of the other posters said, maybe give them a hard deadline as to when they need to have their dresses because it takes time to ship and alterations. They have very nice inexpensive dresses that can be overnighted on Amazon or off the racks in the store. Hope it all works out!! Congrats ❤️

They all live 1200 miles away from me so taking them shopping isn’t an option lol. I did give them guidelines several months ago (and colors were decided a year ago) and just asked that they buy a blush pink floor length dress that they were comfortable in. I had a feeling not one of them had a dress because I’ve asked several times and I just hear “I will soon”. Soooo last night I sent a very polite group message asking how the shopping was going and it was confirmed that nobody had a dress yet 😭

I would be so stressed out/ upset!! My wedding is in August and I asked all my girls to have their dresses by the end of this month... 5/7 already have ordered theirs!! I would be very direct that they need to do this ASAP. If they need alterations, they could be pushing for time.

You are definitely not being crazy! I'm stressed out for you! I have 4 bridesmaids, and 3 of them have their dresses already. The one left is my sister, and knowing her, I keep checking in every 2 weeks because she can procrastinate. I may be the crazy one lol

The website my girls ordered their dresses from (Birdy Grey) ships within 2 weeks. From what I understand, my girls at least, said the dresses fit great, they are just a touch long. So they shouldn't require too much in the way of alterations. I obviously don't know what your guidelines are for your girl's dresses, but this website might be worth a shot for you.

    Good luck!
