Alternative to rental China that doesn't look cheap?

Sally, on January 30, 2016 at 11:01 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 4

Hi brides!

I'm throwing a dIY backyard bbq wedding and am curious if anyone has suggestions for rental China and flatware alternatives that don't look cheap and keep the formality of a cocktail dress code wedding?

I ask because if we rent, we will have to hire staff to rinse the dishes and stack them back in their carriers.

I'm aware of bamboo plates and I'm concerned that they look too informal. Any thoughts on how to keep the formality but not have to rent the China?

If you rent china usually you don't have to wash it, the food just needs to be scraped off of it.

Search on amazon like China wedding plates. They are beautiful and disposal.

I agree with @Cathy - DIY and backyard BBQ does not mesh with cocktail attire and china. I say buy those nice plastic chinette dishes that you can throw away. Also- since you're DIYing, consider who will be monitoring trash cans and taking out the trash for you at your reception? (the caterer?)
