All Inclusive Resorts in Nz?

Kate, on July 6, 2018 at 11:02 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 8

My Fiance and I are planning our honeymoon in New Zealand. We want a good mix of adventure and relaxing pampering. We're planning 6 days (not counting travel). We're planning for a nice spa day on our first day in town, then going to rent a car and drive around the country side for 3 days, and then we'd like to spend our final 2 days at a beach resort. Ideally we'd like something in the style of the all inclusive resorts one would find in Mexico or the Caribbean. Does that exist in New Zealand? I'm having a hard time finding them online.

I want a place where we can sit our butts in the sand and have unlimited drinks and meals without worrying about the price tag.

Looking for advice on:

-All inclusive beach resorts in NZ

-Driving around NZ

-Must see spots (not interested in large cities)

-North or South island?

A quick google search shows there are no all inclusive resorts in NZ.

I don’t want to discourage you guys, but that’s A LOT of flying to only explore for three days then spend three days doing things you can do much closer to home.

Are you all in the US? If so, it's going to take you 18+ hours to get to New Zealand, if you could swing it I'd suggest more than 6 days.

We're doing our honeymoon in Fiji and New Zealand. New Zealand is more of an adventure place than beach relaxing. I'd suggest going to the South Island, exploring Wanaka and Queenstown. You can do hiking and other adventure things there like the glow worm cave rafting, as well as a wine tour for something a little chiller. The closest thing to relaxing we're doing while in New Zealand is this: https://www.hapukulodge.com/.

Anyway, this was a long to way to say you're not going to get all-inclusive in New Zealand. If you want beach relaxing go to the Caribbean. Somewhere like Tulum might fit what you want better.

I've been to NZ a couple of times (north and south island) but I wouldn't go there to sit on a beach. It's pretty cold for most of the year and I would assume the water would be quite cold too. In saying that, it is absolutely one of my favourite countries I've ever been. Last year we spent a week just in Queenstown and we still didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted to do so you may want more time if you do go to NZ.

Also, NZ is kind of pricey in general too. If you want something that has a beach and is all inclusive, why not try the Cook Islands or somewhere else in the South Pacific - Tahiti, Bora Bora, Fiji, Samoa, Vanuatu etc. Most of the island would probably do inclusive stays.

You won't find all inclusives here. I'd never even heard of them before WW. I honestly don't think you'll get what you're looking for and might be better off choosing somewhere else. I love my country, it's a beautiful place, but it doesn't really have what you're describing. Are you coming straight after your wedding in October? Because the beaches will definitely be cold, most people don't start swimming until December or later. We're going to Fiji after our wedding in November which will be warmer and is only a three hour flight from here.

With such a short time frame I'd definitely choose the South Island. It's much more scenic and comparable to pictures you would have seen of the country. What are you interested in? Hiking, wineries, adrenaline sports, culture, or just taking in scenery?

Thanks all. We're really interested in hiking, horse back riding, and taking in local scenery. We defintely want a few beach days too though. All inclusive isn't a necessity. Just seemed like an easier way to plan.

We picked NZ since neither one of us have been before, and it looks so beautiful. But it sounds like I have some more research to do.

    I appreciate the advice
