All-inclusive honeymoon destinations in October?

Rachel, on December 3, 2014 at 8:32 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 17

My fiancé and I are looking at where we would like to honeymoon. We really want to go somewhere all-inclusive, where we won't have to worry about buying food and drinks. I would love to go to the caribbean, but I'm concerned about October being in hurricane season. Any suggestions?

Thank you!,

We are staying at the Excellence all inclusive in Mexico's Riviera Maya. We chose it after going through dozens of options. Excellence also has resorts in Jamaica and the DR, but we really wanted Mexico. http://www.excellence-resorts.com/

We are also getting married October 17, and want to go to the Caribbean but concerned with hurricane season. In my amateur research I discovered that Aruba and Barbados are below the hurricane belt. We are going to meet with a travel agent after the holidays to confirm this info, and if we do honeymoon there we will be sure to.splurge a little extra for travel insirance. The other option is wait a month or 2. We are newlyweds for 1 whole year.

We went to Montego Bay, Jamaica and stayed at Secrets St James this past October. No problems whatsoever-rained only 1 afternoon. Just get the trip insurance and don't worry about it until you're about a week out.

I also went to Cancun during hurricane season and was fortunate to be scheduled on a flight out the day Hurricane Rita hit but it truly was not a big deal. Just a crowded airport.

Hi Rachel! Congratulations on your engagement. I actually love traveling during hurricane season, this past year my husband and I stayed in the Dominican Republic. Luckily, we haven't had to cancel or have had bad weather. I myself have stayed at the Excellence Playa Mujures and can say that it's fabulous!!

Aruba is outside of the hurricane belt and has year around great weather and the island is cooled by the trade-winds. I typically do not recommend doing an all-inclusive in Aruba as it's one of the Caribbean islands where it's best experienced outside of the resort and it's safe. There are dining options that you can pre-pay and there are a couple of all-inclusive resorts as well.

I would be happy to help you price packages. I don't charge a fee and I search around for the best pricing.

    Have a good one!

As said above, Aruba is outside the hurricane belt. We went there for our second honeymoon in August and stayed at the Occidental. Loved it so much that we bought a timeshare there. The people, the food, the resort were all excellent. Here's a few pics.

Pic# 1 - Our view from our private checkin area on the 9th floor.

    Pic# 2 - View from our room.

Pic# 3 - Flying Fishbone Restaurant. If you go, I HIGHLY recommend taking the ride there. Our seats, table and feet were in the water. Food and service were great, and we went right before sunset.

ETA: We booked the Royal Club Package that has all the bells and whistles, but there are other room categories if you don't want to spend a lot of $$$.

We went to Excellence Punta Cana in October and weather was GORGEOUS! Only rained one day in the afternoon! So pretty and all inclusive. Reasonable too! Better than Sandals in my opinion.

I got married this past October, and we stayed at the Secrets Wild Orchid in Montego Bay. It rained a little every day, but it never lasted for very long. It definitely didn't put a damper on the trip or ruin anything - it just meant you got a break from lounging at the pool to go inside, reapply sunscreen, get a drink, new book, etc. =)

Excellence in Punta Cana is beautiful too. We went there in 2007 for my 40th birthday and we went in November and the weather was perfect.

    Hi Rachel!

i actually just got married myself! There are plenty of places to go for a great all inclusive vacation! Have you looked into Secrets or El dorado properties? Both are adults only, with great food & service! I was at Secrets Capri In September and had no issues at all! We offer Travel protection, which allows you to cancel for any reason for a full refund! If you have any questions, feel free to check out our storefront or email me at *******@*******.***! Happy to help!!!

We went to an awesome resort in September. It was beautiful, and I think we'll go back there for the honeymoon next year.

It is in Samana in the Dominican, It is gorgeous, and the beaches were amazing. It's quiet though, if you're looking for a lot of night life, this isn't it, but, it's a fantastic place to unwind.
