Alaska Cruise?

Angie, on December 27, 2019 at 4:20 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 13
Hey all! We are starting to plan our honeymoon and one of our top ideas is an Alaska cruise. Has anyone done one? Any suggestions or ideas to make the best out of it?

Alaska is beautiful. Depending on the time of year, it is a cruise that is typically more older couples and less families. If that is a vibe you are going for I think it would be really nice.

I had the BEST time on a cruise in alaska with my family! We did a week on land then a week at sea. Can't recommend it enough. My brother's wife and my fiancé hear about it all the time even though it was like 10 years ago, so naturally they want to go too. 😅

We’ve been on two Alaskan cruises together and can’t wait to go again! Plan your shore excursions. They’re expensive but they are the best. Also, a balcony cabin is a must-have - there is always something outside to look at on an Alaskan cruise.

We would be going end of June/beginning of July. That is exactly my vibe! Lol. I'll be 33 and he'll be 41 when we get married.

Awesome to hear! What cruise line have you done? I am planning on at least one off shore excursion and definitely a balcony cabin.

Awesome! What cruise line did you go on? I wish we could do a land and sea trip, but my fiancé can't take off that much time. We are looking at a 7 day cruise. I'm so excited!

We have been on both Carnival and Holland America. I thought for sure we would like HA better (“supposed to be more upscale”), but nope - we liked Carnival better.

We did Princess cruises because that's what my grandma always did. It was ten years ago, but I remember everything very positively. If you can splurge to get a balcony room it's also worth it. Enjoy!! 😍😍

Surprisingly, the food was much better on Carnival. We actually liked everything about Carnival better (in Alaska, anyway - in most other places, Carnival’s vibe is a little too “Walmartesque” recently).

Rent a car when you get off the boat - don't do the tour buses they don't stop at any of the lookouts - only for bathroom breaks! - Coworker is Alaskan native and she gave me this advice. Denali National Park is beautiful and breathtaking!
