After Party in Sonoma

Danielle, on May 22, 2022 at 1:51 PM Posted in California Planning 0 4
Hello! My fiancé and I are getting married in Sonoma County. Because of the noise ordinance we have to leave our venue at 10pm but we want to keep the party going!

We aren’t from the area. So does anyone have any recommendations? We are open to a private event or even suggestions on how to keep it going in a more budget friendly way.

Hi Danielle! I'd recommend scoping out a local bar that can accommodate your group!! That way it can be casual and not officially hosted by you (so you aren't on the hook for paying for drinks) - and whoever wants to keep partying can just join you there!

I’ve also been looking for a casual place to keep the party going after our wedding ends at 11. Our hotel is in Napa and I noticed a lot of bars also close by then. I recommend searching on yelp to see what’s open after 10pm near your hotel, or if the hotel you’re staying at happens to have a bar open that late.

Is this at Vintners Resort? LOL
I am from Sonoma Country- lived there for 20+ years. Unfortunately Sonoma County can be quite expensive for some things, weddings being one of them.
If you have a big wedding reception and want most people to go out afterwards, you’re looking at having to book entire other event- food, drinks... Most bars, restaurants, scenic places can’t easily accommodate more than about 20 people for a single party without an advanced contract and negotiation. I love Sonoma County because of the intimacy, cuisine, and culture, but man it can be hard to plan weddings here.

Sorry that wasn’t very uplifting. It is doable to have a bunch of people meet for drinks or whatever you want afterwards, but big group means second event contract and more $$$. Small group will give you so much more freedom. Wineries will be closed long before that hour, so those won’t be options. Depending on your budget, you can check out Healdsburg- cute town for tourists with some great food and drinks at night. If you want to go the other direction, Kenwood or Glen Ellen might have something but I think they may close on the earlier side. Sonoma County isn’t really known for late nights out 😂 In general, bars in the area are for people having a drink or two with a meal at the bartop counter- there’s not really dancing / clubbing scenes out here.
We Northern Californians May drive fast, but we are slow paced in every other way
