Affordable St. Louis area venues for ceremony/reception

My fiancé and I just got engaged a week ago, and my first priority is picking the right venue. We are on a budget, and looking for a place within 30/ish minutes from the city, and our budget is $5,000 for the venue. Everywhere I look seems reasonable, until you realize they require you to cater through them and use their bar packages, and I haven’t found that any of these options are affordable for us. If anyone knows of a venue that may work please let me know!

Just ran across your post and this might be a bit too late, but have you tried some venues that are a bit further away. When we were looking we read that most folks will attend your wedding if it is within an hour drive. We lived in Defiance, Mo and were able to find the sweetest and very affordable venue, Celebration Hall in Jonesburg, MO. ( CelebrationHallEvents.com ). Hope this helps!
