Greens2, on March 21, 2020 at 5:40 PM Posted in Missouri Planning 1 8

Hello-

My Fiancé and I have chosen and AHHHHMAZING venue in St. Louis , MO close to University of Missouri-St. Louis. We are trying to find an affordable reception space either near the area or close. Does anyone have any suggestions?

That’s a beautiful venue! How many people are you needing to accommodate for the reception?

How far away are you willing to have it? Unfortunately, that area does not have many attractive venue options for a wedding reception. The only one I can really think of off the top of my head is the glen echo country club. There are tons of gorgeous venues about 15 minutes away towards the city. Will you be having a more formal event? Upscale? Casual? Seated dining or buffet?

We are fine with decent travel 15-20 mins wouldn't be bad. I'd say formal/modern/ either or on the dinning portion.

The Thaxton is one of my favorite venues. It’s 1920s speakeasy vibe. Super cool place for a smaller group of people. The Bluffs on Broadway is another fun spot that has indoor & outdoor spaces and river views. I believe they have catering and food truck options available. Barnett’s on Washington is a more formal venue and has a gorgeous staircase for photos. The Caramel Room has breath-taking views and a rooftop deck. I’ve been to lots of receptions at Windows on Washington and they seem to be a fantastic all-inclusive venue. They provide food, bar, and transportation. And the views are beautiful at nigh- especially from the balcony!
