Adding music to wedding website

Private User, on December 25, 2013 at 9:07 AM Posted in Account Support 0 37

How do I add music to my wedding website? I've read some older directions that say to look for a "music" tab on the "Wedding Website" page, but I don't see an option like that anywhere. Thanks for your help!

If its the new, upgraded wedding website editor, you won't be able to add music. If it's the old one, you should see a tab that says "music.

Yeah, I used to have music with the old one. When I upgraded, my music was gone. People asked about it and WWLauren said that the new version doesn't have music. Now my website feels so quiet.

I wondered what happened as well! Almost makes me want to make a new website somewhere else, although I could just revert back to the old. Not impressed WeddingWire!

I reverted back to the old website. I just don't understand why they rolled out this new website if you aren't able to do all the things you used to be able to do. Seems like regression!

I wouldnt add music if i were you. It makes it impossible for someone to view your website at work.

I made the switch to the updated version also, and have to say that I'm disappointed in Wedding Wire. They should have put more thought into informing their users that they would be removing music, which we had put some thought into including on our pages.

Here is a work around. Add a youtube video of the song you want and at the end of the URL for the youtube video add "?autoplay=1" (i.e. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KSOMA3QBU0?autoplay=1). Make sure your link is doesn't start in https, it has to start with http when you add the URL. What this will do is basicly start the youtube video/song as soon as whatever page you add the video to is opened.

Does anyone know if wedding wire plan to enable music on the upgraded site? It was last on my 'to do' list and I don't want to send it out without music Smiley sad

OmarAndErica - I just tried the advice above and it worked.

    1) Find or create a youtube video and copy the URL

    2) Add section to the page you would like to hear the music on and choose "video"

    3) Where is says "Enter a video URL" add the URL AND ?autoplay=1

    Ex.

    Original URL - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUx6ZY60uiI

    New URL - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUx6ZY60uiI?autoplay=1

Make sure the URL isn't secure as indicated by the letter "s" in https:

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for the autoplay advice. Worked perfectly!

To answer Maddy, just remove the "s" from the url.

Idk know why my video won't autoplay on my desktop. I added the ?autoplay=1. I made sure there was no "s" in the http. It's driving me nuts. Any suggestions?

Is there a way to hide the youtube video when you add it so you can hear it but not see it?

Thanks for the autoplay advice. It worked. The only thing is, it doesn't autoplay. I have to click the play icon for the music to play. How can I get it to autoplay? Also, anyway to hide the video so you simply hear it and not see it?
