Acne scars, blemishes, etc

LIZBETH, on May 5, 2018 at 2:24 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 35
Hello brides! So I’ve always had acne. My teen years being the worst but I still get some.i have scars/ dark spots in my face from all that acne. I can’t stop trying to get blackheads out, etc. How can I make those scars go away? When I wear make up I can’t see them as much but i still see them. The thing is I usually don’t wear any make up. Any advice?

I feel like you and I have very similar skin/situation. I've been using ambi exfoliating cleanser morning and night. It's so rich and moisturizing but also exfoliates and helps with cell turnover. It has ingredients that also help even out skin tone and texture. If you keep up with it, you'll usually see results within 2 weeks.

Depending on how oily your skin is they also make a fade cream that is really nice moisturizer too, but I find that if you dont have BEYOND DRY skin, it makes your skin look shiny. I just use it at night before bed when it doesn't matter anyway.

It's about $4 for each, so not a bad investment!

I’m in the same boat. I’m 35 and still get a big zit once or twice a month on my face, chest or back (currently a big painful one on the middle of my back). The biggest myth I’ve ever heard is that once puberity is over, acne leaves with it...ha!
As I age, they do fade but the pitting scars on my cheeks are still there; concealer helps but doesn’t cover them completely.
I’d recommend finding a dermatologist. I’m a pharmacist and I can tell you that there are tons of rx options that will help. I went that route years ago, but when I stopped the meds the breakouts began again. I’m fair-skinned and the meds will make you burn more easily. They also dried my skin out so I stopped.
I’ve come to accept it as an inconvenient imperfection but remind myself that there are worse things in life. I do understand where you’re coming from though; it took me decades to finally give up lol...so get a good doctor and keep trying different meds until you find one that works for you. Microdermabrasion helps with scarring as well but it’s a challenge if your skin is sensitive.

I would look into IPL (photofacials) to lighten the dark spots... microdermabrasion to remove the build up of cells that can clog the pores.
I would also see a dermatologist for a prescription...

Hey girl, I get the cystic acne on my face and I’m 34! I well beyond the acne age and still suffer from it. After getting engaged, I decided it was time to do some research with skin care lines. Currently I use Renée Rouleau (look her up online), she can be a little pricey, but I like what she has to offer (consultations, different types of lines, a very thorough blog), but since price was getting very expensive with the other expenses of the weddIng, I’m also using Mary kay’s Timewise line and clean pore line and really have seen wonders. I’m also not a huge makeup fan but after reading about the skin benefits of make up (read Renée rouleau blog), I have purchased Mary kay’s Cc cream which has made my complexion more even while giving me a soft, dewy, glowy look and I have gotten unbelievable compliments. I still look like me, which my fiancé always wants, but my skin has improved greatly and I feel more confident for my weddIng. I understand how all this stuff can be annoying, but start researching skin care and I say start with Renée rouleau because her info and blogs are fabulous...a wealth of knowledge!! Good luck!!!

I found an at home peeling mask that they sell at sephora or ulta. Most of the brands have good reviews but it costs over $60. I plan to buy it soon to give it a try since I have similar issues.

Light chemical peels have pretty much erased my acne scars. You can ask a dermatologist about them or estheticians do them. I go to an esthetician because the peel tends to be lighter and my skin doesn't get really red and irritated after. It took 3-4 peels for my scars to fade away.

I'm 36 and still get acne ( especially around the lovely time of the month 🙄 ) cystic acne, and I have huge pores that are all clogged and look disgusting. I wear eye makeup for work and the occasional out to dinner dates and such, but I never wear anything on my face because my skin is so......blah. I just received an email from a local Mary Kay consultant and I think I'm going to book an appt with her. I've tried SO MANY different washes, creams, gels, scrubs, masks, and nothing has really worked. I'll let you know what I find out with MK.

Hi I used to have very bad acne , I also had scars I’ve spent so much money on creams pills doctors just about everything , now I won’t say it didn’t help because it did but the acne would always come back until finally i came across the information of using aloe Vera plant which you can get in any supermarket for 2 dollars , you cut the plant and take out all the stuff that’s inside and place it in a jar and use that stuff for your face . I wash my face and apply it every night and leave it on for 15 mins if you can leave it on overnight it will burn and itch but after it drys completely it won’t feel that way , it took me about 2 weeks to see 100% difference in my skin and I also used a olay acne face wash as well you can give this a try I hope it works

I feel like my skin is a bit of both. My forehead and nose are a bit oily and the rest is normal. My wedding isn’t until April of next year but if I can do anything for my skin so I can look my best that day than I must start now.

My face isnt too bad (nothing that cant be covered up easily with make up usually) but my back and chest can get horrible. Im so nervous im going to be wearing this beautiful dress and then have horrible backne. Ive been going to the dermatologist and using the creams and wipes. My biggest thing is making sure i drink a lot of water and remember to take a shower the second i get home from working out and not sit with my sweaty sports bra on for any period of time

I’m 27 and feel the same like you. I know a lady at work who is around 45+ and still gets acne. I used to get them in my chest and back but it kind of went away. I can’t stop trying to get them out. I don’t know why, i know if I do it my skin will get a scar.i used to wear makeup everyday but with 2 kids (8,1) I feel like I have no time for me and usually go to work without any makeup. While I’m there (specially in the bathroom in front of the big mirror) and see the younger girls all dolled up, it makes fe feel more self conscious about my face. I tried some over the counter product that cleared all my acne but also burned my skin so stopped using it. I’ll need to stop with my anxiety of getting them out. Lol

Hey Lisa, thank you. Its annoying how we still get acne after puberty. 🙄 I’ll definitely will check it out! You pointed out the bb cream. I really need to look into it since Im not so makeup savvy. I usually just moisturize my skin, put liquid makeup on, blush and mascara. I’m guilty of not removing it sometimes at night and washing my face. Got to change habits... Thank you!

I totally get you. I get them more around that time. Something that really worries me is that I most likely am going to be on those day during the wedding. I’m regular and unless a miracle happens I’ll be having to deal with acne during my wedding. Good luck to you and yes let me know!

Hello Anakaren, I’ve heard wonders about aloe Vera. So you are telling me it erased your dark sports from acne?
