a September Morning Wedding in Tucson, Az...too hot??

Carly, on May 4, 2020 at 11:35 PM Posted in Arizona Planning 0 6
We are planning to get married in the middle of September. We are doing a morning wedding (10-1). Both ceremony and reception outside with shade. Is it too hot?? Has anyone had a morning wedding in mid September in AZ?

Ironically my bff is getting married also in Tucson in September and she chose for hers to be at 6p outdoor ceremony because she said by then it hopefully wouldn’t be as hot

Please no. I went to a wedding in Phoenix in Aug, at noon, and even though the ceremony &reception were indoors, the car ride from the hotel to the site was awful. Most guests seemed miserable. And the event was inside (the AC worked but not enough).

Many guests can’t take heat (I’m one of them). I would decline altogether or ditch right after ceremony. ☹️

I Personally Have Never Been To AZ To Know But If It's In Your Budget You Can Provide Hand Fans To Guests As Well As Stand Up Fans If its Needed. Will There Be Any Shade At All? If Not Maybe Think Of Adding That Too.

Hi Carly! Would your guests be sitting in direct sunlight in either space? That's something I'd also think about!!

Our friends had an unexpected heat wave for their September outdoor wedding in Kentucky, so at the last minute they added program fans, and arranged for cold waters and arnold palmers to be available with circulating servers as guests were waiting for the ceremony to begin. Everyone stayed in the shade until we were actually five minutes from starting when the planner directed us to take our seats!
