600 Guest Wedding to decorate

Kyndra, on October 11, 2017 at 6:03 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 154

I am having a hard time figuring out centerpieces for my wedding. I have to come up with something to decorate around 75 tables. My family and soon to be family has been amazing with helping pay for everything but I don't want to spend that much on centerpieces because it is not that important to me at all. Any suggestions or ideas?

Yes sorry for the misunderstanding. Around 600 guests.... and 75 tables for the reception. I know its a lot.... I am marrying into a very old school Italian family.

I don’t know never mind like 60 people, I cannot imagine 600 people. I’d talk to a professional.

WOW. That's gonna be a very interesting BAM! Sorta looking forward to it. While I don't have any suggestions currently, I do wish you the best of luck with figuring out how to decorate 75 tables because.... that's a lot. Lol.

ETA: I agree with PPs, this is something that you need to consult professionals with.

What is "not spending that much" to you?

With that many tables it is going to be expensive no matter what you do (unless you do nothing).

Even at $10/table, that's $750, and I'm honestly not sure what you could find or make for only $10 that would look even halfway decent.

ETA and if you don't pay someone to do them for you, who is going to place them on all 75 tables? That alone would take a good chunk of time lol

600 people. What the heck. I don't know 600 people! No way.

Sorry, that is just way too many people. You cannot possibly be close with that many people, how do you remember their names????

I mean, 300 is a huge wedding....600 is kinda....well, to each their own I guess.

With a wedding that size, I wouldn't dare take it on, I would hire a coordinator and hang onto my wallet!

I've been to very Italian weddings that didn't even touch on that number. My lantaaaaa just reading that number puts my anxiety at an all time high.

Anything you do with that amount of tables is going to cost money.

Also please come back and update us on how that seating chart comes along.

@FMG-the biggest Italian wedding I’ve been to (and I’ve been to several) was 350 and that was huge.

@Kyndra I would speak with the grooms family, generally LARGE Italian weddings are fancy. they tend to use this time to impress friends and family members - and to make great memories. Don't forget the jordan almonds too! GOOD luck and have someone do it - thats a really big party Smiley smile

Depending on your theme... you can make rustic boxes and put babies breath in them with limited roses like this. You have plenty of time to make them and it shouldn't cost much

The issue isn't necessarily your ability to actually make 75 tables worth of centerpieces.

The issue is where are you going to make them, where are you going to store them until the wedding, how are you going to transport them to the venue, who is going to set them up for you, who is going to remove them for you, etc etc etc. Do you have any idea how much space 75 tables worth of materials is going to take up in your house?

Even if you did the boxes like a PP posted, you would still have to purchase 75 tables worth of materials to make the boxes, or buy them, which will cost a bunch, then purchase and arrange 75 tables worth of flowers. All of that is going to take you a LONG time, and you would have to do it a day or two before the wedding, otherwise the flowers would look crappy. And this is going to cost you at least $10/table (probably a lot more). If you use silk flowers the cost will likely be even higher. No matter how you slice it, this is going to be a huge cost to you, even if each one individually doesn't cost "that much." Plus, you have to consider your expenditure of time, also.

600 gives me anxiety to the max just thinking about it. My anxiety was spiked with a 125 guest list and we ended up cutting it down to 50. Here's my thing though: no matter what you decide to get, for 75 tables, it's gonna cost $$. You're VERY lucky to have both sides footing the bill. Good luck ! Your BAM is gonna be awesome to see.

Depending on how your venue is set up, I'd advise farmtable seating with greenery garland and mercury votives going down the center. Chic and classy. If you have to do round tables...that's another story!

Do a trio of bud vases featuring a few nice blooms, and a couple of votives. Keep it simple. And most importantly....hire a florist to do this. I usually suggest this type of setup with my budget-conscious clients and it works wonderfully - although in your case, it's still going to end up costing a lot. Like EM said, event scale is everything here. DIY is feasible with a smaller number of tables, but with 75 tables you're looking at 225 vases and 150 votives if you go with even this very simple route. If nothing else, it's going to be a huge pain to set up/take down and you'll need someone else to take care of it.

You could check out the dollar store. They have some nice vases that are a decent size. Then go to the local farmers market and see if you can get a deal on cut flowers.
