5Mos until wedding...should i change venues?

Kim, on January 8, 2020 at 12:00 AM Posted in Oregon Planning 0 2
Hi guys!
I booked this gorgeous venue last year 2019 for my May 2020 wedding. When I booked my date was considered a summer price so I was paying top price. However, after showing my friend the venue I noticed their 2020 rates changed and my date is now a spring price so it is now almost 3000 dollars cheaper. I’ve emailed the venue, but I haven’t heard back yet.

I’ve only paid my deposit. If they don’t honor their 2020 pricing, I’m thinking I’m going to find another venue however I’m not sure!!! What do you guys think?

I would keep calling until someone picked up or got back to me. Make sure you read your contract and there aren't extra charges for canceling. With 5 months I personally would just keep the venue and see if you could get extras if they are not willing to decrease the price.

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Kim.

I would advise waiting until you get to speak to someone in the venue before considering canceling. See how that discussion goes, and take some time to weigh up the pros and cons of canceling if they won't honor the 2020 price.
Did you speak with anyone in the venue yet?
