I just got a text, and they said hey you won a trip to all these locations, and we pay 80% of the cost, but you would need to pay $540.00 right then with no documentation until after you gave approval over the phone to run your credit card. It has scam written all over it. Can anyone vouch for this? Is it real? How are they able to do this at shows?

To elaborate some more, we got the call afterwards. That is how we know the additional information, but she couldn’t even email a statement or contract stating why we should pay the money in advance.

I would absolutely not hand over any amount of money without seeing a contract first. This sounds like a scam.

These are common scams. They get your contact info from mailing lists that are frequently sold back and forth

Best advice is to avoid any offers given to you of free prizes or trips. They always are selling something that is overpriced. There is no reason to be tempted to buy expensive stuff you do not need. Put your needs on a registry instead.
