You have almost 2 years until your wedding, so I'd strongly recommend waiting a year before dress shopping. Styles change, your opinion might change, and you might change. That being said, I personally think it's better to go into a boutique with mental list of elements of dresses that you like instead of a specific dress. For example, when I went shopping I told my consultant that I liked something fitted from the top to the waist, and then more flowy but not poofy at the bottom. I liked lace and intricate detailing, but probably not all over, I like illusion necklines, and didn't really want a strapless dress. A good consultant should be able to bring you plenty of options that fit what you're looking for.

I agree with pp. I would wait about 6 or 8 months to start trying dresses on. But definitely continue to look online an get a feel for your attle and exactly what elements you like
But also keep an open mins. Try on things you might initially be uninterested in. You'd be surprised what you like once you actually try them on.

Buying your dress too early is how you have dress regret and multiple dresses. Tastes change and the dress you chose might not be right for your venue. I know it’s exciting but just make a Pinterest board of things you like for now.
I had 3(!!!) dresses because I was engaged a long time ago. Sold one, kept the two for wedding and afterparty but it was a costly mistake for sure!

Definitely wair until a year before the wedding! Styles will change and what you like might change too! Also dresses can be altered up to 2 dress sizes so if you'r planning on losing or gain weight, it may be difficult to alter the dress later on!
I am a 2021 bride too! I know all the excitement your feeling! I've been to bridal shows, and yesterday at the one I went to I found the most perfect dress! But I know i will find dresses like that a year from now too! I am eagerly waiting this year to go by so I can finally go dress shopping!

Due to the fact I bought my FMIL a VIP ticket to the bridal expo last year and she went. She recently just got remarried Sept. 1st of this year

I wasnt going buy anything in 2019 n just have it sitting in my closet lol I am just a ball of nerves altogether
