10/10/2020 wedding- Send out Save the Dates?

Jordan, on May 3, 2020 at 12:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Hello Brides! I tried to scope out the conversations but there are so many so excuse me if this is a repetitive question! Since we're getting married in October we have made B-List of people we might need to cut if we arent allowed our original 150 guests Smiley sad However it makes me nervous to send out Save the Dates to the original 150 if we have to cut a lot of guests closer to the event due to Co-Vid. Do you guys know what online invitations are the best and might work best for this type of situation? Has anyone heard of WedText? It sounded nice since you can text people and maybe risk emailed invites going to spam? Not sure which one has the best platform. Tbanks!

Save the Dates are just the announcement. I think with everything going on everyone will understand if the guest list have to be shortened. Don't let that stress you. I got my invitations from Etsy. I never heard of Wedtext. That sounds pretty kool. Try to make the best non stressful decision 😁

I’m getting married the same day as you! We gave save the dates only just to close family and bridal party. I really didn’t want to do save the dates for everyone because frankly it’s expensive and eventually it just goes in the trash, but I wanted close people in our lives to have them, as well as for us to have one as a keepsake! We gave our out in November which was quite a while before corona started but I’m happy we did it that way and didn’t mail out save the dates to everyone just in case we need to downsize. But save the dates are also totally optional so and online save the date during this time would be great! We also plan to send invitations in July, hopefully we will have more clarity by then for how the wedding will be with everything going on.

When are you planning on sending save the dates? I think at think point I would just skip them and just send your invites when they are ready to be sent. We are getting married 10/10 and sending invites in July.

We sent Save The Dates in December to about 120 people.

I posted a letter on my Social Media Platforms stating that due to COVID we will be downsizing the event. People seemed relieved and very understanding. Many asked me to send an address where they can send their gift and card.

Sadly, we already paid for our invitations but we were able to pause production. So, we are thinking of those who we are "uninviting", invitations will invite them to view the wedding online.

I’ve heard of wed texts but we decided to go with simple texting instead. Wed text will send the message to the person and address them how you have them listed in your phone, so if you have “annoying aunt” listed for someone in your contacts lol it will send them a message like “hello annoying aunt” I found it very inconvenient to try to go back and change all my names in my contacts because some people I have nicknames and I wouldn’t want them to be addressed informally

We are in a very situation at the moment. I am getting married in October as well. I already sent out our STD in March. We are now worried about when should we send the invitations since we don't want to pay extra money if we do have to send change the date. Smiley sad
