100 days and counting! Any other April 2021 weddings?

Victorian Bride, on December 29, 2020 at 8:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 29
Hello Everyone!

Our wedding is April 9, 2021. I pray everything goes smoothly. This is our 4th wedding date. Our wedding colors are pictured, plus black and ivory. My gown is the color of the lightest swatch #691. My FH thinks it's white or ivory. ha! ha! We have a Victorian/Caribbean theme ( Yes, very unusual) since we've moved the wedding to Jamaica. We are eloping, now. Just us, and we'll have a large reception in the fall.
What is your theme, your date, wedding colors, and where are you getting married? Have you had to postpone? Best wishes to everyone!! ❤

Hey girl! 4/3/21 AZ bride here! I have 95 days! We have appointments set up for next month for my alterations, rehearsal dinner restaurant, cake tastings & flowers. Just made appointments in March to finalize everything with our venue, DJ & photographer. My fiancé is a firefighter/medic & is the captain of his crew so his plate is over filled both on & off shift. The majority of the planning/researching has fallen onto my shoulders. As he says he’s spoiled with everything I’m taking care of. Getting married at Regency Gardens in Mesa. Then we’re flying to Jamaica the Monday after our wedding!

Oh your colors are so pretty, and we are almost date twins!

FH and I are April 10, 2021 in the Southeast. We were originally October 10 of this year. Thankfully I didn't really plan a fall themed wedding! Our colors are shades of blue, with some elements of natural wood and gold/yellow. I don't think we really have a theme other than "us". Classic and Southern perhaps? 😛

Thank you, Tiger Bride! I'm a redhead and I love our colors, too. Yours sound lovely!! Can't wait to see your photos. Yes, you are right there with us on April 10th. Congratulations!! Classic and Southern can be a theme! 😊 Ours was originally Southern belle, Victorian, with a touch of Cinderella for our 1st wedding date. My how life changes things!! I'm in the South, too. I appreciate the sharing of your details. I know you will have beautiful photos. 💗💕 xx

Victorian / Caribbean sounds weird, but it is not. I have not visited in many years, and new is always replacing old. But during the British Colonial period, not only were their plantations, but generations of English bureaucrats and 100 days and counting! Any other April 2021 weddings? 2

functionaries, teachers and company workers. And in the hundred years before Jamaican Independence, around 1960, and especially Victorian times up to WWII, the English built homes and pu lic buildings similar to their home country, with only more windows and entryways and other concessions to the tropical climate. I still have pics from that time, and a tourist not looking for modern chains will find a lot of styles common to Victorian England. I hope this one works for you! And I love the fabric.

Hi Judith! ❤ Lovely photo!! Yes, I agree our theme may sound unusual, but it definitely is not. Our custom invites are going to be a unique blend of Victorian meets Caribbean. Sending those to immediate family to watch our live stream and for wedding day photos.

I'm a history buff, too, and know Jamacia's history well. I've also been there many times, but not for several years, now. We are marring at one of the oldest resorts that Sandals owns. It is reported that it was Ian Fleming's favorite Jamacian resort prior to his death before I was born. It has a very English Colonial vibe. Also, if possible, we are supposed to go take some honeymoon photos at one of the great houses while we are there. The English style gardens at this resort are amazing. We will get some beautiful photos! Here is the Victorian style gazebo that we've chosen as our ceremony site. Also here is a pic of part of our suite. We are so excited. Thank you so much!! ❤ xx

How Beautiful! Yes, Devon House Kingston ( pic I sent) in now open as historic museum. I knew of history, but not how much was preserved, and was surprised to go onto older homes and step into **** English things. I do not understand why more people don't do what you are doing, marry at their honeymoon place, without trying to take a whole destination wedding with them. This you will remember forever. And quilting, I have always loved the tone on tone embroidery. Your pantone
swatch has just the lightest tint, but overall, more fBric, will be distinctively pink, not white or ivory. I love it. Do you have detailed Victorian accessories too? I love the jewelry.

3/27/21 bride! (Well we legally got married in October but our big wedding is that date). Our colors are navy, silver/grey, & white but we didn't choose a specific theme. Our wedding will be at a Hilton in one of their ballrooms .

Deven House is gorgeous! Jamacia has very few areas it'll allow tourists right now. The 'corridor' where tourists are allowed is mostly between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios from what the wedding planner told me during covid. With my health and the condition the world is currently in, it didn't make sense to ask people to travel with us. To us, anyway. Our family members can enjoy the live stream. Thank you on the swatches. My gown has tons of yardage in the ballgown skirt and train, but sometimes in the light it looks a strange shade of ivory. Time will tell. I love monochromatic color schemes, too. Hopefully, the resort will get everything right. I may get to borrow some of my fiancé's grandmother's Victorian jewelry, but that's still up in the air. I did have a crystal and freshwater pearl bracelet crocheted for me using silver thread. I'll take a photo. My earring as of now aren't Victorian, but they are very dainty and I'll try to take a photo of those later as well. I'll give you a small 'show and tell.' Take care. xx
